Should Mumsnet forum users be allowed to Swear!

No offence I enjoy reading the discussions on this board but why do mums really feel the need to swear in their posts! What kind of example are we setting as mums if we can't control the use of our tongues and use language that is obscene.

Mumsnet - why is it not your policy to remove swear words from posts? saying we are all adults doesn't excuse the use of foul language! I am sure I cannot be the only mumsnet user who doesn't want to read swear words every five seconds. It makes me close a thread and stop reading what otherwise could be an interesting read.

All I can say is no wonder every time I go the playground with my kids I hear young children using foul language when parents can't even control their tongues anymore! Unfortunately I agree the world is full of people who swear but as mums should we not take the lead in setting a good example for the next generation???

Sometime use of a swear word is appropriate and why shouldn't we as people be able to use the words we require to get out point across?

MotherFuckingChainsaw · 23/07/2016 19:37

I abhor crude language

ParadiseCity · 23/07/2016 19:37

If we couldn't swear how could we insert fuck you, Daily Mail screen grabbing cunts for example?

MotherFuckingChainsaw · 23/07/2016 19:37

Swearing should be banned

Costacoffeeplease · 23/07/2016 19:39

I'm not a mum - is it ok if I fucking swear?

PovertyPain · 23/07/2016 19:39

WOMEN! KNOW YOUR PLACE!

If you're a mum it is your responsibility to bring up well rounded individuals. The menz can't do it because they're too busy working to keep you all. As for you lot that haven't had children, what are you doing on here, youshould be busy getting a man so you can breed and look after the babies and your man. Can I swear now? Good.

Fuckingfuckityfuckfuck with a bit of cuntyfuckfuck on top.

Dailymailbastards · 23/07/2016 19:39

Mums fucking net is a different website altogether...

Cakelover - MN is a forum that works jolly well as it is - swear words and all - because we are grown ups who can distinguish between when swear words are appropriate (ie. on here, or in the presence of unshockable adults) and when it is not appropriate to swear (ie. in front of our children).

Why do you think it is appropriate to come onto a forum that is working just fine, and is popular with its members, swear words and all, and try to Bowdlerise it so that it suits your sensibilities?

If you go into a cafe, and don't like the menu/ambience, do you demand that they change things to suit you, regardless of the fact that it is popular with its existing patrons, or do you try to find one that suits your tastes better? I would look for a different cafe - because I don't expect something that is popular and functioning well to be changed just for me.

If you don't like the use of language on MN, why not try to find one that suits your tastes better, and leave us to our foul-mouthed ways.

MrsHathaway · 23/07/2016 19:41

(and this goes to the whole bloody lot of you)

I luffs Olivia, I does.

And this thread has gone about as well as might be expected. Even though I'm sure it's not been a week since the last.

Oh, um.

Donkey-licking jizz gargler.

I love humorous swearing, it is sometimes needed I feel to make a sentence 'complete'. Op I don't really see much aggressive swearing on here, do you mean just aggressive swearing or just all swearing
bothers you?
