You are at risk of porn pop-ups and various other undesirable adverts and I assume the viruses that usually go with.

I started a thread about it in Site Stuff [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/2685989-Livid-porn-on-my-phone-please-help? here but I know lots of users don't look at the Site Stuff topic.

I did ask HQ to post a warning, but they have not done so, and this has been an ongoing problem for several days.

I've got no idea bibbity. I closed the browser pages and that seemed to do it. I hope it's not done anything nasty to my phone.

LilacSpunkMonkey · 20/07/2016 17:42

I had a competition pop up a few minutes ago and wondered what the Jeff was going on!

Thanks for the heads up bibbity.

Can't believe you're getting snippy replies for trying to help people.

TormundGiantsbabe · 20/07/2016 17:46

Ironically I just had a competition pop up when I opened this thread.

TheSpottedZebra · 20/07/2016 17:52

Me too, Tormund!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 20/07/2016 17:54

It's been going on for weeks.

Now the pop up tesco scam as well.

It's utter shit ,I do not want to see a woman with a vibrator stuck up herself on a parenting website . And to blame it on Pokemon Go is a load of bollox!

AnyFucker · 20/07/2016 17:55

It's happening to me too

I had porn a couple of weeks ago and today so competition thing that I had to keep closing the browser to get rid of

WeDoNotTalktoPennilynLott · 20/07/2016 17:56

I got this yesterday, it wasn't porn, just an ad that you can't get rid of without completely closing it down

ShowOfHands · 20/07/2016 17:56

Oh it's our fault is it?

I have ad blocker and anti virus btw. Still happened.

Bibbity how DARE you try and help people?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 20/07/2016 17:56

The desktop site is too big for my phone,it looks all wrong and I have to do too much scrolling.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 20/07/2016 18:00

Thanks for the heads up, I keep getting the competition pop ups, V. annoying. Will badger my oldest son to set up the ad blocker thingy when he's finished his match on FIFA.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 20/07/2016 18:04

Ilost - won't make any difference ime, you'll so get them. It's a MN glitch.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 20/07/2016 18:07

**still

Threepineapples · 20/07/2016 18:19

Thank you bibbity, I had this yesterday but didn't connect it to MN, as I had just upgraded my phone software & thought something had gone wonky

But it happened again today

What should I be installing on phone to block ads? I have Noroom but it doesn't seem to find any issues.

Threepineapples · 20/07/2016 18:20

Ffs Norton Grin

Ginmakesitallok · 20/07/2016 18:25

I've been getting them too. Do they do any harm (apart from being bloody annoying) if I don't click anything and closedown straight away?

Pettywoman · 20/07/2016 18:29

I've had stupid vibrating pop ups saying I've won stuff. I just closed the window and didn't click on it then ran a virus check.

WholeAgain · 20/07/2016 18:30

I've always had security/anti virus on my phone and I still got this crap plaguing me. The answer from tech was terrible...telling us not to panic and blaming it (partly) on Pokemon Go which I've never had.

I'be installed Adblocker...still happened.

So you can have all the precautions you want and still get this shit to deal with.

Whatdotheclocksinthehallsay · 20/07/2016 19:19

Thought it was just me! Bugger.

Whatdotheclocksinthehallsay · 20/07/2016 19:21

Oh and I have mcafee on my phone, it's says all fine. Hmm

AliceScarlett · 20/07/2016 19:27

I'm glad you said, I thought it was my phone. Hate it... Less the porn, more the extensive vibrations Shock

AndroidAddict · 20/07/2016 19:52

Was it that thing that said something about Tesco having chose my phone number to win a voucher/free shopping? It's happened a couple of times now and I've scanned my phone for viruses thinking there was a problem with it. I tried to go back but it wouldn't let me; I had to close the chrome web browser thing down instead.

MrHannahSnell · 20/07/2016 20:35

That explains the gambling add I'm getting. Thanks OP.

Crunchymum · 20/07/2016 20:41

MNHQ, can you kindly sort this out.

I was one of the users involved in the hacking debacle..... I don't want a virus or anything else dodgy on my phone.

megletthesecond · 20/07/2016 20:46

I've got pop ups blocked but a weird competition just pinged up on my mn mobile android page. Have moved to desk top now.
