to really really want someone to do something? (coffee shop related)

I am sitting in a very large branch of a well known coffee chain.

A youngish couple (maybe early 20s) have come in and sat at a table near me, which is as far away from the tills and the staff as you can get, and are sharing a Dominos pizza and drinking soft drinks that aren't from the coffee shop. Ie. they are here simply to use the table. They've got the pizza on the table between them, napkins and everything.

I'm finding it really annoying for some reason. And the smell of pizza is making me hungry.

Whilst acknowledging that this makes me sound like Mrs Angry from Tunbridge Wells, I wish someone would chuck them out.

i bet they leave their empty box for the coffee shop staff to clear up too!

And I would have loved for them to have used the shop's wifi to order their dominoes online then wait for the delivery driver to knock on Costa's door declaring "pizza delivery for Josh and Erica". That would be class!

Haha - I went to a pub the other week to watch a band, the people on the next table whipped out cans they'd brought with them plus a selection of dips and crisps. I was torn between ShockConfusedHmm and jealously of their brass neckness!

I obviously just sat there in a very British manner and said not a word, I was very tempted to ask for some dips and crisps Grin

Ask them if they meant to be so rude

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 19/07/2016 20:33

How old are they? Could it be a social media jape? (Jape, what a fantastic word. 10 points to me).

Silvercatowner · 19/07/2016 21:00

Ask them if they meant to be so rude

With a head tilt.

StealthPolarBear · 19/07/2016 21:03

You are seeing a very small part of their day. They probably spend 99% of their time only eating food they've bought in tbe establishment.

kali110 · 19/07/2016 21:22

Not surprised, i was in Costa and and there were people eating mcdonalds Confused

Lilianna123 · 19/07/2016 22:07

ConkerTriumphant · 19/07/2016 22:26

I used to think that Tunbridge Wells was a made-up place Blush

StealthPolarBear · 19/07/2016 22:40

Go and give their heads a good wobble too

AlpacaPicnic · 19/07/2016 22:47

I used to buy cake at the supermarket and eat it in Starbucks, but I did buy a coffee to drink, and I always get the largest size.
Once we picked up some amazing cheesecake from borough market and enjoyed it 'sitting in' but we did take our rubbish away with us afterwards.

Tigerpaws57 · 19/07/2016 22:54

Don't really see why this was such a problem for you?

throwingpebbles · 19/07/2016 22:59

I reckon this is a reverse

RockCrushesLizard · 19/07/2016 23:14

I think you live near me Bibbity, and I know the coffee shop/supermarket you mean (initials both start with s?), with domino's under the railway bridge?

There are always loads of people eating food from the supermarket, the staff (who I think are really nice) seem not to care. Maybe it's part of the franchise deal that they let people eat other stuff?

I felt quite the rebel when I first sneaked a babybel to my DD there...

LuluJakey1 · 19/07/2016 23:18

Honestly, just chill! What are you so worked up about? as DH said earlier to me over next door neighbours making a noise in their garden and which he has since regretted

BarbaraofSeville · 20/07/2016 08:32

I find it easy to boycott dominos. They sell extortionately priced shit pizza.

It was a lovely day yesterday, why couldn't they have just eaten their pizza in the park?

Shock at the brass neck of some people. I would never have the cheek. I'm still traumatised from the time that I was told off in a Spanish hotel for taking water from the water fountain when we were on half board and 'the water was for AI guests only'.

How the fuck was I supposed to know that water was not freely available for everyone - most UK places do jugs of tapwater (I do buy alcohol as well but like a big drink of water with a meal and prefer not to contribute to the mineral water plastic bottle problem especially when it is being sold at hotel bar prices).
