to ask you to recommend any London days out.... something quirky or a bit different,....definately easy on the wallet..

My dd is almost 7 , i live in London, i've done quite a lot of the museums,...I'm trying to organise some odd days of fun for us, it could also be water park related, it doesn't have to be cutltural.

Your best please and ones to avoid?

Best bus for sightseeing is number 11.

I really recommend the Hoop app if you are London based with kids. It lists a huge range of stuff.

The Royal Gunpowder Mills is a brilliant day out. Lots of stuff to keep children interested with special activities each day. Also, go on the tour of the old Gunpowder manufacturing site, it is very surreal.
It a bit out of central London but we've been several times.

The 159 and 3 bus are great for sightseeing and schlepping around the tourist resorts.
The national gallery followed by a walk to Somerset house is a nice one too.

We like the Museum of Childhood at Bethnal Green (lots of activities) and then a quick trip over to the Olympic Park.

And I really want to see The Hive at Kew, it sounds amazing.

The Bank of England museum is meant to be a good way to pass a couple of hours. It's on our to do list.

The Opera House put on welcome performances which are a dirt cheap way of families seeing an opera or ballet. My dc's (8 & 7 when we went) are feral but loved it. Have to register and book ahead though.

Ucl has another fab museum - the Petrie museum of Egyptian Archaeology

Yes! Gunpowder Mills is excellent

Bank of England Museum is good, combine with a trip up Monument, maybe St Pauls Cathedral.
