To be panicking that I jumped into the swinming pool?

I am 10 weeks and I jumped in feet first from the edge of the pool....as soon as I did it I thought....oops....googled and horror stories as with anything at all that you do when you are pregnant...including "water being forced up your vagina" "impact injuries" "placental abrubtion" and god knows what else.
Anyone done similar?

If it was in any way likely for you to have a miscarriage due to jumping in a pool, I think I would have heard of it being used as abortion method.

It is very hard to end a pregnancy without lethally damaging yourself. Just you leading a normal life will not do it.

Please don't worry. I once fell off really hard while water skiing at 4 months preg and practically gave myself an enema - I did call it a day then for the duration with the w-skiing, but no harm done.

I went on the Waltzers when I was pregnant with ds1 20 years ago before I knew I was pg. He seems ok most of the time Grin

I'm sure you will be fine op :)

I'm so glad you got rid of the awful pit from which anxiety creeps (otherwise known as your ex!). Well done!

I didn't know I was pregnant until 13 weeks when it slowly dawned that although I was on the pill and I'd only had sex at the less fertile ends of my cycle I did indeed have to notice the lack of periods and inflating bosoms!

Anyway, I panicked terribly as I'd done pretty much everything on the DON'T list except smoking. And that included spending the day at a water park in France and zooming on down 4 story high water slides and about a million flames - ok, about 20 times really, which is still loads! I found a deserted one which was terribly soothing for some reason, and sort of made my stomach catch up with my body as I was feeling unaccountably nauseous! New cure for morning sickness, a cool quiet water slide, I should patent it Grin

Any concensus on water slides? I'm gutted to be on holiday when I'll be 26 weeks! I'm guessing it's not a good idea though....

I went on water slides at 28 weeks until the staff at the water park stopped me. Buzz killers.
There is no particular reason you shouldn't, other than their fear of you suing them!

LittleLionMansMummy · 13/07/2016 11:31

Grin I love waterslides. They're not white knuckle ones, so I'll queue up and see if they let me!

EreniTheFrog · 13/07/2016 11:36

I understand the panic. Does swimming help you with the anxiety? It's one of the safest exercises in pregnancy there is.

Sparklingbrook · 13/07/2016 11:42

I think it is natural to worry personally. I was with my first pregnancy, I remember worrying about a long haul flight at 7 weeks pregnant and being relieved the hotel was near a hospital.

I wouldn't go on a waterslide if I was pregnant though. Actually I wouldn't go on a waterslide full stop.

Do stop googling though OP.

whattheseithakasmean · 13/07/2016 11:54

OP, step away from Google.

Remember, it is far healthier to stay as fit and active as you are able, rather than lounge on the coach for fear of injury. Being a big fat couch potato is far riskier for your baby than maintaining normal physical activity.

5Foot5 · 13/07/2016 13:19

Don't worry, perfectly normal to worry!

Agreed.

I had IVF treatment. Embryos were put back in on the Sunday morning so I took the Monday off work intending to take it really easy. (I know there was no reason that would make a difference really but it is hard to be totally rational in that situation)

Anyway, during the Monday I got a phone call from somebody about a holiday we had booked and I needed to get the information from upstairs. Without thinking I ran up the stairs and then ran down again but after I came off the phone I realized what I had done and burst in to tears!

Totally daft I know (and the result of the IVF is now a healthy 20 year old) but I think most people are capable of worrying about nothing where pregnancy is concerned.
