AIBU to ask for your opinions on campervans

Hello we have a nice and shiny VW T4 Camper that spends most of its time sat around waiting for us to have time to take it on holiday :-)
I am thinking of starting a camper hire business with it and with expansion in mind would like to ask your opinions on what type of VW Camper we should purchase with customer rentals in mind.

Would you prefer to go old skool and rent a traditional 1970's camper?
Would you prefer modern and rent a VW T5 with all the mod cons such as TV\DVD, solar panels, heating etc.

Thanks in advance.

I've always had a starry-eyed hankering after a campervan holiday and DH has been a sceptic.
Until a few weeks ago when he came home with a first-hand story from a colleague who'd gone to France (France FGS!)

They'd parked overnight in a secluded motorway "Aire" in their own campervan with equipment and bikes etc. on the outside. They were set upon by a group who stripped the outside, rocked the van about, threatening them with a beating if they came out and scaring the kids witless.
When they reported it to the police the next day, they just said: "You shouldn't have chosen that place. There were signs up." Shock
I'm now on DH's side....

I'd prefer modern, but only because I'm a lazy driver and would be worried about breakdowns.

FWIW, you're about to enter an exceedingly competitive market. I'm a marketing consultant for small businesses/start ups and through WOM I've got a few contacts, all with the exact same idea as you for putting their spare van to work.

So far it's not living up to any of their expectations. Be prepared to spend a lot of time and/or money on marketing alone!
