Just curious, as DS is starting nursery in September. There's bags, jumpers, polos, t shirts, etc.

I don't think I'm going to bother. Do you buy it?

I will be buying a nursery cardi this year because it saves in having to dress her in different stuff each day. Plus I don't care to 'keep up with the Joneses '

Basecamp65 · 21/05/2019 11:08

No - our pre school introduced them but I have never seen a single child wearing it.

Abbazed · 21/05/2019 11:11

Yeah, you can buy generic polos and trousers/skirt n two jumpers but you have to get those and the book bag. As minimum. Aldi and lidl cheap

outsho · 21/05/2019 11:12

Not optional and I always preferred it tbh because it saves their own clothes from getting ruined.

Abbazed · 21/05/2019 11:16

Yes, He loves wearing the uniform the same as the older school children. , He just has the school jumper and, white polo shirts from Asda or Sainsburys. He wears normal joggers. He is starting the reception in September at the same school so the jumpers will get more use. He won't have PE kit or book bags until he starts reception. Not all children wear it but most do.

My son likes it too x

CastleCrasher · 24/05/2019 22:43

Yes, she loved her uniform. Ended up with five jumpers and even more polos and joggers though as she was so bloody messy!!

CripsSandwiches · 24/05/2019 22:50

At mine it was compulsory (or at least every kid wore it). I would buy at least one of each second hand from a local mums group.

It's better to have spares

itscallednickingbentcoppers · 24/05/2019 23:03

I will, it'll be so cute and I want him to fit in.

switswoo81 · 24/05/2019 23:06

Preschool has a tracksuit. It is great. Comfortable, easy to clean and dry and no arguments in the morning. Dd will do over 2 years in preschool so it's a good investment.

Abbazed · 25/05/2019 14:22

I like the trackie idea

Indie139 · 26/05/2019 15:40

The nursery that i work in has uniform. Polo, fleece, hats, bags. The staff wear the same uniform. Its optional for the children our preschool has almost 40 children on roll and id say only about 4 of them have the uniform lol.

Is It an economically deprived area?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 26/05/2019 18:59

Mine liked being like her big sister. I liked only have a few paint and mud stained items.

amy85 · 26/05/2019 19:24

It's optional for dd...maybe because she's at a private nursery...but I've got her two of the polo shirts as they were pretty cheap, made getting ready on nursery days easier and saved her normal clothes as she always comes out covered in something
