I have my best friends wedding in 10 weeks and i would like to lose weight for it. Im currently 12st and fed up feeling fat and frumpy at only 24 Sad i know i to need to change my eating habits but i dont know where to start. Ive been very self concious of my stomach since i had ds 13 months ago and its my main problem area. Im not able to get to fitness classes readily as im on my own with ds. Any advice and help would be very greatly appreciated

Follow a vegan diet.

Ooh great minds Ditsy!

I would get on better having someone motivating me as opposed to going it on my own

A friend had recommended herbalife shakes but i would rather steer clear of any meal replacement shakes etc

My fitness pal

It's an app you use to log your calories on your phone. It's gives you a calorie target based on your height, weight and desired rate of loss. You log any exercise and eat back the additional calories (although most people only eat back 50%-75% to a count for logging errors and overestimating calorie burn.

The free version is perfectly good and you can start using it straightaway.

I'm about the same weight and want to lose 1.5 to 2 stone. I've followed SW in the past, it sitedoes work, although like any diet you can't just go back to unhealthy eating afterwards or you put the weight back on.

I'm eating low carb, cutting out sugar, that works best for me as if I have the tiniest bit of something junky I just crave more!

I can't exercise due to health problems, but do walk my dog.

Forgot to say, I use My fitness pal, it really helps.

planey, you are sensible to shun the idea of meal replacement drinks.

Go vegan and don't eat any processed food

planeymcplaneface · 10/07/2016 18:08

I tried them before on a 3 day herbalife trial and they were disgusting. The full pack that i was being asked to buy was over £100 Shock

I've lost a stone in the last couple of months- I limit my calories to 800 a day Mon-Fri (I relax that at the weekends) try and do 10,000 steps a day and go rock climbing 2-3 times a week.

Diddlydokey · 10/07/2016 18:13

Keep your hands busy in the evening - painting nails is good & something like needlework. It just breaks the habit.

Also ask yourself if you're really hungry. Would you eat an apple? Or just the twix?

purplefox · 10/07/2016 18:30

I second the Whole30 and any other low carb suggestions.

Fomalhaut · 10/07/2016 18:35

Just one thing regarding tummy - do you have any degree of abdominal separation? If so, you need to be careful about the excercises you do. If you Google diastasis recti excercises you will find ones to do and more importantly ones to avoid!
