Because of You by Kelly Clarkson. Exactly describes my relationship with my mother, I often cry when I hear it (along with Headlights by Eminem, which is not my kind of music at all).

Wonderwall makes me emotional about the past. Every time I hear it, I close my eyes and I'm back in the early 90s. It's very eerie, so don't listen to it very often. I get quite emotional as everyone who was around at that time have all gone from my life now.

Wires Athlete

TigerBreadAddict · 07/07/2016 19:55

Somewhere over the rainbow 😢

'Say something I'm giving up on you' great big world and Christina Aguilera made me stop the car and cry my eyes out the first time I heard it during a very rocky patch in my marriage. It's now like a Pavlovian response.

TigerBreadAddict · 07/07/2016 19:57

Common people and disco 2000 by pulp; and we are young, we are free by ?Supergrass remind me of being young, free and happy

sadie9 · 07/07/2016 19:57

Amy Winehouse 'You send me flying' makes me absolutely wretched with sadness.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 07/07/2016 19:58

Everybody Hurts - REM was watching this on MTV when I started to miscarry. (many years ago) couldn't listen to it for years. Now can, such a great song.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 07/07/2016 20:01

And Bridge over troubled water by Simon and Garfunkel just really makes me stop and think every time I hear it. Incredible song.

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 07/07/2016 20:02

Little Girl Blue, The Janis Joplin version. I listen to it when my mood is really low and it brings me comfort, it's a song that as corny as it sounds, it speaks to me.

ghostyslovesheep · 07/07/2016 20:14

MeAndMy3LovelyBoys · 07/07/2016 20:17

Michael Buble- Still Haven't Met You Yet.

Makes me happy :)

JLS- Eyes Wide Shut
Little Mix- Change Your Life
Ellie Goulding- Love Me Like You Do
These 3 songs make me feel happy because they all remind me of when each of my boys were born and I used to have music channels on a lot during night feeds.

NeYo's songs make me feel sad as they remind me of a different time in my life that has now passed but a point in my life that I loved. I get a bit of an empty feeling when I hear his songs from about 9 or 10 years ago.
In fact most songs from 2006 make me feel wistful/sad/empty.

I have a different life now though and I'm so happy to be a mum Smile

Louw1988 · 07/07/2016 20:18

My brother I meant'

mishmash1979 · 07/07/2016 20:21

Adeles "someone like you" ; it was the only song that settled my screaming baby for a few minutes at night. It makes me cry when I hear it as we now know it was a milk allergy causing him agonising cramps that made him scream all night. It took 6m of the howling before he was test d so this song represents a lot of painful nights for my beautiful boy.

Tworingsandamicrowave · 07/07/2016 20:24

Slipping Through My Fingers and Winner Takes It All get me every time.

P1nkP0ppy · 07/07/2016 20:25

Somewhere over the Rainbow by Eva Cassidy tears me up ever since it was played at bf's funeral
Abide with Me completely finishes me off, even if it's just the music

Itsaplayonwords · 07/07/2016 20:26

Chasing Pirates by Norah Jones. It was my favourite song when I was pregnant with DD1 and we used to play it to my bump. She was born very premature and when my husband played it to her in the incubator it made me remember that she was the baby I had been carrying and despite the difficult journey ahead she would get better and she would come home. I cried my eyes out with both sadness and happiness.

WorraLiberty · 07/07/2016 20:29

Mr Blue Sky by ELO always makes me happy Grin

I can't listen to Make You Feel My Love by Adele, since my friend's DD played it at her baby's funeral.

findyourbacon · 07/07/2016 20:30

Everybody Hurts by REM - every time hear it, I start to blub. I think it came out at the same time my granddad died and it just struck a chord.

And My Kind of Love by Emilie Sande - not sure why though. It's just quite an emotional song and I'm an emotional mess these days!!

pinkmagic1 · 07/07/2016 20:31

James Bays ' Hold back the river' Me and dh met as teenagers and spent many happy hours racing horses along the river bank.
Life is so busy now with us working all hours God sends and I just wish we could pause time and go back to them days sometimes. Change the lyrics 'we rode our bikes' to 'we rode our horses' and this just song just sums things up perfectly.

CatThiefKeith · 07/07/2016 20:35

Chasing Cars. Was played at my best friends funeral and I still can't bear to listen to it 9 years later.

Park life by Blur, and Wake up Boo by the Boo Radleys always make me smile though

2protecttheinnocent · 07/07/2016 20:37

A long time ago now I lost me dear my fiancee 2 weeks before our wedding day he was killed in a car accident on the way to meet me at the church to have a chat with the vicar to sort the last few details

Michael Jackson you are not alone was to be our first dance song (it was the song that we first danced on our first date) and a played it at his funeral and still to this day I smile whilst tears falls down my face. the lyrics have such dual meaning to me, they remind me of such happy times and that he is still with me, no matter what.

Another day has gone
I'm still all alone
How could this be
You're not here with me
You never said goodbye
Someone tell me why
Did you have to go
And leave my world so cold

Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Something whispers in my ear and says
That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

But you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
But you are not alone

'Lone, 'lone
Why, 'lone

Just the other night
I thought I heard you cry
Asking me to come
And hold you in my arms
I can hear your prayers
Your burdens I will bear
But first I need your hand
Then forever can begin

Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Something whispers in my ear and says
That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
For you are not alone

Whisper three words and I'll come runnin'
And girl you know that I'll be there
I'll be there

You are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay
For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart

For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart

For you are not alone...

Mrs fuzzy and DexterJamesmummy and LouW1988 sorry for your losses Flowers
My bro also committed suicide and Cyndi Lauper True Colours 'can't remember the last time I saw you laughing' always makes me cry. Crying now just writing the words. Also loads of songs that remind me of him before he was Ill and while he was Ill make me happy and make me cry at the same time.
I have loads of songs that make me very happy, I suppose because they remind me of happy times, too numerous to mention.

Middleoftheroad · 07/07/2016 20:45

2protect so sorry for your terrible, tragic circumstances and heartbreaking loss. My reasons seem so trivial by comparison xxxx
