AIBU to go to Beyonce's @ Wembley concert, a day before the school run?

Hi;

So my friend got an extra ticket to go to Beyonce's concert at Wembley tomorrow!

Though I'm not sure if I want to go as I have to take DS to school and wake him up really early and get everything sorted and whatnot. My mum has offered to look after him while I go to the concert tomorrow, but obviously I would still have to go back and collect, (DS school is too far from my mum's so she won't be able to take him).

As I would love to go; I guess I sadly have to pass this up. What would you other parents do?

How far away from Wembley are you? Youngest daughter is currently on a train on the way back from tonight's concert - it finished at 10.30. They had to rush out to get the tube across London to Waterloo but they made the penultimate train. From the brief communication I've had with her it was brilliant!

Oops! Sorry for not being clear! I have to go to work as soon as I drop of DS to school and I really don't fancy taking a 2 hour journey to my mum's place in the night or in the morning.

To be honest, it's mainly the tiredness.

So get a local babysitter

There's no AIBU here is there

Go. Don't go.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 02/07/2016 23:46

If you really wanted to go you would go. You wouldn't be thinking that you'll end up tired.

AndNowItsSeven · 02/07/2016 23:47

Can't your ds just miss a day off school they don't teach anything in July anyway.

Cockadoodledooo · 03/07/2016 00:07

Could your mum maybe come to yours instead and look after ds there? Or do you not actually want to go?

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 03/07/2016 00:14

Ah I see it would take two hours to go via your mums. Well apart from anything doing that on Monday morning is likely to make both your son and you late.
Either she's going to have too have your son at yours in which case she might be able to at least start getting your son ready if not take him to school. Or get a local babysitter

YWBVU to pay good money to see that egotistical arse

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 03/07/2016 00:20

Can your mum stay at yours?

Obviously offering her a bed instead of the sofa to sweeten the deal.Grin

Yolo fgs! Go!!

KissMyArse · 03/07/2016 00:33

Unless you think you'll be invited to the after party I'm not sure what the issue is here.

Babysitter seems the best idea.

JakeBallardswife · 03/07/2016 00:35

Sort the logistics but go, it's Beyoncé!!

Arielthemermaid285 · 03/07/2016 00:38

You know what? I'm just going to go Grin. I'm going to arrange a local babysitter to babysit DS. I just really couldn't be arsed to travel two hours to collect DS from my mums. I'm going to enjoy myself !

Enjoy! I went on Thursday to Cardiff and it was amazing. I got home at 2.30am then dd had a bad dream and woke me at 4am then I got up at 7am got 3dc ready for school and I went to work at 8am. Bloody exhausted and survived on coffee but really worth it.
