I do lots of things but I came on to Covent that this morning, after a pret tty good night sleep, I saw my dogs lying in the sun and thought it looked nice so I curled up on the sofa in a sun spit. Went out live a light for a short nap. That was extremely relaxing!

Knit something that is complicated enough to stop me thinking about other things but not difficult to unpick if I go wrong

If I want to relax so I can sleep, I run cold water over my hands and feet before getting into bed. Feeling them warming up slowly makes me feel very relaxed and sleepy.

Kill things on ps4.

Not talk to anyone

Read

I used to love twilight shifts in summer as I'd come home and sit in the back garden and watch the sunrise listening to Dawn chorus. Perhaps with a cold glass of wine. Then sleep in the day.

Now children need looking after in the day so no sleeping so no quiet time alone. So it is ps4 with headphones whilst they are asleep in evening instead.

Nanunanu · 03/07/2016 08:31

I'm impressed by all your exercising and crafting types. Far more productive. I enjoy crafting -cooking painting sculpting etc- but get really quite stressed by it

Same with colouring in. Far from relaxing me I get all het up. Some childhood trauma perfectionist streak no doubt.

Running

Cooking for the freezer

Doing an Ocado shop (I know how sad that sounds)

Turning off phone/laptop and reading a book

Netflix

But running is the best

Whatthefoxgoingon · 03/07/2016 08:39

I don't find sex relaxing at all. Quite the opposite: I feel very awake and energetic afterwards.

I prefer gin. Grin

Playing piano, painting, meditating, walking in nature, bath, running, reading, watching a good drama on tv-loads of things.
