Reverse dieting?

Posting here for traffic really as nobody on the weight loss boards today!
I just can't seem to lose weight despite religiously sticking to 1200 calories daily and e er using like a demon. I've lost and gained the same 2 stone many times over the years but I'm not even shifting a pound and I've been at it for 4 months now. I have a BMI of 28.
I'd like to explore reverse dieting but can seem to find out much about it.
Has anyone done it or know much about it?

But when do you stop then? And how do you avoid putting on weight?

You stop when you start putting weight on. By increasing a small amount per day, each week, then getting weighed you should find your 'sweet spot'.

My doctor offers patients a weigh in clinic where they also check your body fat with the pinch test. I find this better for me than getting weighed as I am also trying to build muscle.

I have this done every two weeks when I am reversing. Every month at other times.

It really does work. I increased mine up to 1600 and have lost about 3-4 kilos (I'm small as well - about 5 foot 1 and started at 52.5 kilos. Am upping to 1700 soon.

Well I've upped to 1600 and am losing weight for the first time in months! I'm seeing my running times increase as I've a lot more energy to fuel it and I've introduced some weights.

Yes, I totally subscribe that it is not a case of how low can you go with calories. This is a sure fire way to lose muscle which makes future weight maintenance hard.

Try listening to 'fat 2 fit' radio podcast, brilliant advice.

Basically, the premise is eat the calories to maintain the body you want. This will mean weight slow drops off and you are not on a 'diet', it is an achievable amount of food that is then maintained for life.
E.G at my height (5'2) and moderate exercise, I should be eating 1800 a day. I'm a couple of pounds off goal weight now.

Here is their calculator for calories that you should be eating, but do recommend the podcast series.
