To think Tony Blair has resurfaced right before the Chilcot Report As If He Has Nothing To Worry About

He first popped up in the lead up to the referendum supporting Remain.
A lot of political commentators cite his recent article on Brexit as an application to handle the EU exit negotiations
He is smiling like that cat who has the cream

I can't help but feel he knows that he has nothing to worry about and I think that is just plain wrong.

Tony Blair is just unbelievable in his arrogance.

I also think he is exactly why Jeremy Corbyn is clinging on to leadership (other than the fact the members want him, of course) with a vice like strength.

Kummerspeck · 01/07/2016 22:47

I doubt the report will pin anything on him

Looking at this from a different angle, maybe the UK needs a Class A psychopath as our negotiator against the likes of Juncker Grin

NettleTea · 01/07/2016 22:47

I agree - they are going to be throwing everything they can at him over the next 5 days so that he is not the one standing up in parliament next week when its published. If you thought the tricks were dirty this week, just watch out next week

NettleTea · 01/07/2016 22:49

remember what happened to this guy

NettleTea · 01/07/2016 22:51

And this is what Corbyn wants to happen to Blair

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 01/07/2016 22:51

Conspiracy theory central.

Alisvolatpropiis · 01/07/2016 22:54

Well, he certainly wouldn't blink first Kummerspeck!

incywincybitofa · 02/07/2016 02:14

Honestly I don't think Blair is THE psychopath we need against Junker if that is the angle that will be taken, because Blair will only act on his wishes .

Tony Blair introduced the minimum wage, repealed anti-gay legislation and introduced civil partnerships, banned cigarette advertising and boosted workers rights in countless ways. His invasion of Iraq gained cross party support in Parliament and although clearly turned out to be the wrong decision, none of us can know what the consequences of another course of action might have been. I'd rather see Tony Blair as leader than any of them in the frame at the moment.

incywincybitofa · 02/07/2016 10:03

He did that all by himself did he Houseof, no ministers in those departments?
Whereas the misleading of the house- the unbridled support of the USA at the cost of his soldiers and his public's wishes- that he did do more or less all by himself with a little bit of help from his friends.

What about all the soldiers who died because he didn't have funding to equip them to go to war? Did they not have worker rights to be kitted out in protective gear that was fit for purpose?
It is protocol that you support the team in office during a war otherwise the effect on moral in the armed forces is catastrophic, so yes the House would have supported him.

Yes, and Hitler built lots of fabulous motorways and achieved full employment.
