I'm fully aware I might be being mental but...

We have an 11month old baby. She still sleeps in our bedroom at the front of the house. The other bedrooms are at the back of the house but are a single room and a box room. We live on a residential avenue.

EVERY night the ice cream truck stops outside the window with the music. Usually around 8pm. The music wakes her even with the windows closed and white noise on in the background.

Also across the street there's a chap who I've never seen to say hello to, but he often calls a cab then for whatever reason (it's the same cab driver & car every time) then has shouty arguments with the cab driver about getting in the cab? Again this is usually after 10pm, usually 3+ times a week.

I'm aware he might have some sort of additional need but it's waking my daughter!

AND SHE DOESNT SLEEP FOR LONGER THAN 3 HOURS A TIME ANYWAY!!!!

AIBU to

  1. Ask the ice cream truck to park else where

  1. Tell the guy opposite to shut up!

If the only reason you would move her is because of the noise I would try to get that sorted first. Perfectly reasonable to ask Mr Whippy to move. I'm not sure about the other guy, but you're not unreasonable to want to put a stop to that, sounds very antisocial.

Mr Whippy ha Ha! I will call him that when I ask grovel for him to park a few houses up.

The guy opposite I think I'll get DH to settle her and I'll go out there and see if I can diffuse the situation and try and find out if he has a support worker etc. I'm not sure if the house isn't a semi independent home with no night support?
