Dp and I have a gorgeous 2 year old ds. I said to dp last night I would love a couple of nights away in the UK alone somewhere. He has just been to France with his mates to watch football for a week so he was very accepting of my desire to have a break alone!

But...where do I go?

I do not want a spa break or similar.

I like seaside towns, walking, amusements, nice meals. We live in SE England.

Thanks

Somewhere lively? Brighton and Hove, there's lots going on there and a good vibe from all the students. Lovely restaurants and shops, not to mention the beautiful South Downs.

CatsCantFlyFast · 25/06/2016 20:37

Whitby? Or Suffolk, specifically near aldeburgh where you will find lovey walks, beaches and some fab restaurants

DarlingCoffee · 25/06/2016 21:38

Rye is very pretty. Or perhaps Norfolk, Wells next the Sea?

PNGirl · 25/06/2016 21:46

Devon or Cornwall? May be a bit far for a couple of nights. I do love Brighton too.

Vixyboo · 25/06/2016 21:55

Thank you! Great ideas so far! Wells next the sea is somewhere dp and I went years ago as part of our walking holiday andI loved it! So it is definitely a consideration!

I went to Brighton for one night in Feb with a girl friend. I dearly love Brighton but I think this time I am looking for a bit of quiet!

Lovely ideas I will look into too :-) very appreciative thank you

Oooh I'm so jealous! I would love the opportunity to do this. I'd go on a weekend sewing/ dress making course. I know that's very specific but I'd just love to do it. Hope you find something wonderful!

Jenda · 26/06/2016 00:41

You might already be near if you are SE but what about Milford on Sea or Lymington.. Lovely towns and sea and the New Forest near for walking.

Vixyboo · 26/06/2016 17:31

I am thinking perhaps Weymouth.

Anyone been there?xx

mayhew · 26/06/2016 17:48

Whitstable is lovely. I'd go there.

Seaside towns, you can't beat Whitby or Filey! Both gorgeous.
Lake District is also lovely and worth a visit - makes for a beautiful, relaxing break away.

Rainatnight · 26/06/2016 19:19

I took myself on a similarly 'me' holiday to Lyme Regis and loved it. I think it ticks a lot of your boxes. I was very happy with my table for one at the lovely Hix restaurant...

HostaFireandIce · 26/06/2016 19:19

If you don't want to go too far, I second Rye and add Lewes if you like walking (and pubs!) and you can get on the train to Bexhill for seaside. Love Bexhill! If you want to go further afield, definitely Lake District for peace or Sidmouth in Devon. I also love Whitby...

HopefulHamster · 26/06/2016 19:20

York. I live in Herts and can get a direct train up to York. My goal is to escape there for a weekend on my own one day!

FrancesHaHa · 26/06/2016 19:22

Weymouth is very traditional seasidey - Punch and Judy, sandy beach. There are some nice walks along the coast there.

I'd go for Lewes

museumum · 26/06/2016 20:01

What about walking the southern upland way to Eastbourne from however far away you want (maybe 10-12 miles a day, nice country pub with good food and a big bubble bath for the overnight in the middle).

Vixyboo · 30/06/2016 18:39

Thank you all xx

Whitstable is lovely

The fishermen's huts on the beach are great

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 01/07/2016 20:55

Ceredigion coastal path. Or Pembs.

Vixyboo · 06/07/2016 20:36

Whitstable or Weymouth xx
