Really interested to hear your views
Social media here.claiming out voters have ruined children's futures I see high youth unemployment in Southern Europe so I can't see the arguement myself. What has the EU done for those kids.

The Human Rights Act and European Court of Human Rights is completely separate from the EU. So in the case you have named it would probably have little effect in 'protecting our own'.

Yes and no. EU membership requires signing up to the ECHR. So to get rid of the latter one has to get rid of the former. The HRA gives the European Convention on Human Rights (ie, the ECHR) legal effect in the UK. So they are far from entirely separate.

In any event, I'd have thought it impossible to deport the man because as an EU citizen he is entitled to remain in the UK. If he had been, say, an Australian or NZ citizen, then he could have been deported.

It seems entirely natural to me to deport criminals once they've served their sentence and prevent re-entry. Every country should have that right, and if that means the UK gets some of its own back, so what?

JustHereForThePooStories · 25/06/2016 12:41

I'd vote to remain.

Amused at the bizarre choice of the British public.

There are quite a number of British sex offenders in my city; I'm looking forward to having them deported back to you lot.

Irish living in Ireland and would vote remain.

I am baffled by the UK decision, and amazed by how many people seem to have voted to leave without thinking about the consequences.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 25/06/2016 13:05

I'm Irish and I'd vote to remain in the EU. If reforming it is required, I think it would be easier to carry out any reforming of the EU from being within it than being without.

elizabethdraper · 25/06/2016 13:10

Irish here. No way would I vote to leave.

Am pretty concerned how this is going to affect us. Are we going to see border controls returning NI?

Larastheme · 25/06/2016 14:31

remain,
it's far more complicated in Mainland Europe, if people are shocked at the negative impact of the UK leaving the EU , it will be a lot worse for many countries in Europe,
Businesses really benefit from free movment, big companies have several sites in other countries, and employees and goods can freely move from one site to the other with no hassle, it would be disastrous for the automobiles companies for example , where HQs are in one country, manufacturing ,assembly, distribution are in other countries, many jobs ( and financial loses) would be lost if free movements of workers, goods and capitals become more restricted,
Also many Europeans ,specially in border towns benefit from working in neighbouring countries while still living at home .

Students can study in other countries with ease,

We do suffer with illegal immigration ,unemployment as well as many other issues due to the rules imposed on us, but the benefits outweigh all the negatives. Every single time,
Think brexit is the wake up call the EU needed to fix its many flaws,
