to feel depressed about my holiday

We go this weekend , been looking forward to it for ages . I suddenly feel really bloody depressed as I'm going to look huge on the beach and just not be able to relax.

Was just too distracted to diet these past few months and now regret my lack of willpower

I'm size 14, overweight by about two stone and look dreadful

Spend your time between now and then following body positive tumblrs and instagrams, plus size blogger instagrams, fatkini campaign etc...I know you are not really plus size but hopefully you will see how beauty and fat can very happily coexist, and hopefully their confidence will be infectious. Have a great holiday, no-one but you will care about your weight and you will regret it if you let it spoil things. You don't even have to try and enjoy the holiday 'despite' your weight, your weight is irrelevant.

Thanks aubergines. I'm not ugly and I don't worry about my face so that's something

I don't want to feel miserable all holiday , no

I honestly think once you get buy the pool/on the beach and see all shapes and sizes you will feel a bit more confident. I really do get how you feel though, as when you feel rotten about yourself it taints everything you do.

Grilledaubergines · 23/06/2016 23:48

By not buy!

LewisFanIsBack · 23/06/2016 23:48

size 14 will look absolutely fine, even if it is bigger than you're used to.

I'm size 24 and don't care what people think of me when I'm on holiday.

Just enjoy yourself... I bet nobody will really even notice

TooMuchMNTime · 23/06/2016 23:55

I think you will feel better when you are there
I had some unlikely/accidental/wasn't going to stay on weight gain before I went on my last hol and had that stupid thing of not wanting to buy new clothes just for it because I knew the weight would come off when I got back

it was okay, we still had tons of fun! lots of face only selfies though Grin

TheJollyPostmansWife · 24/06/2016 00:02

You do look better than you think you do. Fact. And when I see women who are smaller/bigger/the same size as me, without fail I envy that they are more tanned than me/have less cellulite/have bigger boobs/don't have hairy toesetc As I'm sure you don't look at other women and see their flaws, they won't see yours

I'm jealous. You already have a beach body. You have a body at a beach. Do you think anyone worth caring about cares?

I am lousy at having a beach body. I live in the West Midlands, known for a tragic lack of beaches.

Rock those curves, girl! Embrace your lovely wiggly luxuriant bounciness! A pretty face and a big smile will get you further than a pair of matchstick legs, and no-where is it written that Thou Shalt Not Enjoy Thyself If Thou Likest Cake.

scampimom · 24/06/2016 11:44

Check out this size 14/16 who is ROCKING the beach look. BOOM!

And this one - we bouncy girls at least have something to fill a swimsuit with!

But sherioushly, I hear you - it took me a looooooooooooooooong time to get to have the attitude I have now. But you can do it - and you can work on losing weight later, so long as you are doing it for yourself and your health, and not to somehow "punish" yourself for "allowing this to happen", if you see what I mean. (I used to do that myself).

ALso having been on the Rat Race don't ever assume fat = unfit. There are fatter people than you completing 20 mile obstacle runs...
