Cards with inside message

You pretty much just write:

To Recipient......
long message from the card manufacturer...
From Sender.

Waste of money or convenience? I personally think if you are going to spend money on a greeting card, you might as well write a nice message in it. Your thoughts? :)

You can get cards with no messages.
And anyway even with the messages already written inside, you know you can write your own message too? I quite often do. And most cards don't have a "long message" it's usually just "happy birthday".

cards are a waste of time and money full stop - once you've wasted the time and money buying the card, the message is fine.

I never read all that rubbish they write inside. I don't really see the point in cards unless you are going to put a personal message in there. I'm with you OP waste of money really

I think they are super naff and only buy plain greetings cards, or make my own!

I just leave a quick message - and include a separate letter if I feel I want to say something else.

I only ever buy blank cards, because they tend to have a much nicer image on the front. Try to get ones that could be displayed, or framed, if so desired. V&A do lovely cards.

Agree a personal message makes it worthwhile.

I am terrible and clear the birthday cards away the very next day. They look so untidy and always fall over. Go be recycled already.
