AIBU To Enjoy Scraping My Baby's Head?

As the question really.
Slathered vaseline on LO's head and got out the nit comb. Spent a very enjoyable evening gently scraping the cradle cap off (obviously avoiding the eerie pulsing brain bit).

AIBU to have found this seriously satisfying?? so much so I kind of want it to return so i can have another session

Oh, that sounds joyful. I've have 4 children and none of them have had cradle cap Sad.

Hands down best thing about newborns. If ever we needed proof were descended from apes, it's the urge to groom...

The only upside of my youngest having chicken pox at 4 months old was picking the scabs out of his hair! And then the weeks of waiting for the hair to grow back....
He also had a couple of really heavy colds when tiny, so I got one of those nose mucus cleaning things from Boots. You suck out the goo. It looked gross but was satisfying, especially as he sounded less like a warthog afterwards!
My cat, however, has let me down. In our old house we were surrounded by cats and had to shell out for very expensive meds to keep the fleas at bay as most of the neighbours didn't bother. She had quite bad flea allergy dermatitis and regularly was quite scabby. Picking them off when they dried with big clumps of fur attached was grossly satisfying.
However there is only one other cat where we live now. It does not have fleas, so neither does my cat. No more scabs.

My DS looked like he had a gross shell of cradle cap on his head until I managed to pick the lot off. He still has bits under his hair so I'm not sure it would've come off if I hadn't.

God I miss picking off cradle crap.
