The kid's a brilliant little reader, about 4yo. Mum's explaining the silent consonants in words like 'wrong', 'write', 'know' etc, and then asks "are you going to get ten out of ten on this?" "Yes," says the little mite, then a second later I tune back in to hear her saying "No, I'm going to have to mark you down". Kid is now promising "I'll get it right next time Mummy, please don't mark me down..."
AIBU to feel pretty sad about this? (My parents were very pressure-y with academics so i may be projecting here...)
