Posting here for traffic really. What was your most successful diet? How did you keep the weight off? Thanks for sharing!

Will add that that's totally without exercise, which I just can't do due to health issues.

swallowswift · 20/06/2016 21:45

I lost nearly 1 stone doing the NoS diet last year. It's not really a diet. You just eat 3 meals a day and no snacks or sugar or seconds. Worked for me and stopped my obsessing about food.

I find the group camaraderie at slimming world is what I need. I can follow the healthy eating plan with my DH and DC not seeing any different. We are all healthier I have slowly lost 1st 5 lb since January not been hungry or stopped having a glass of wine.

For me it what I eat and extra steps on the fit bit help but exercise doesn't help me lose weight I just think I can eat more!

But really it's the excitement I feel at the group sharing my loss that really motivates me. I can't do it on my own

Lost 4.5 stone by strict low carbing and counting cals also

Out of curiosity, has anyone here lost weight on a diet and stayed at or close to the new diet for at least five years?

albertcampionscat · 20/06/2016 23:28

Gah. New weight not new diet.

HooseRice · 20/06/2016 23:35

Exactly what Welsh said. With bells on.

albert I haven't done that because I've had two pregnancies in the last 6 years, but I have used my 'whatever works for me' techniques to lose weight successful after each of my three DCs and keep the weight off until the next pregnancy though. I am very active though (have more or lessalways done some kind of daily exercise like yoga, running, exercise DVD etc, since I was a teenager, and try to build lots of walking into my day), so i am able to go back to eating fairly normally once I've lost weight and the weight stays off, so it's not like I have some magic trick that will work for everyone.

I've finished producing children now (DC3 is 2) and I am hoping that my current weight loss mission is the last one I'll need to go through, bar the odd 5lb gain/loss when I over indulge at Christmas or whatever.

Thanks Hopefully - good luck.

I do slimming world. Although I do, do it differently to most people.

I do the Sp plan which is fairly low carb. No eating lots of pasta, rice etc

And never eat fat free products. If I want yoghurt I have full fat Greek yoghurt. If I am having toast I have butter on it and count it in.

I don't use my 'Syns' for alcohol and chocolate, for the most part, I use them on full fat foods instead.

I do also exercise a lot. I run 5 days a week and do 4 exercise classes.
