To wonder if this is a slightly tasteless hen party theme...

Just got back from shopping in the city centre, where I saw a hen party group. They were all dressed in camouflage jackets and trousers (the sort you get from an army surplus store) and were carrying inflatable machine guns. Now I realise the 'guns' were obviously inflatables, but the rest of the gear looked authentic. Whilst not wishing to be a killjoy, I thought it was pretty tasteless given the events of the last week. I can imagine them getting turned away from a lot of venues in my city too.

Well the get-up doesn't bother me but agree with the 'tasteless' bit as I am one of those joyless souls who prefers going for a slap up meal to parading around in some form of 'sexy' witch/zombie/pink lady etc outfit to celebrate getting married Wink
I appreciate my minority status but I luffs my food Grin which possibly explains the tight sexy costume avoidance malarky

They weren't dressed sexy though they were wearing jackets and trousers.

Don't see the issue. Obviously the bride or groom have connections to the army.

It's not offensive to wear army gear, would be offended if they were wearing police or fire brigade uniforms? If they were all dressed as Nazis you'd have a point.

Any hen party which involves bunches of drunken women in tacky costumes, is tasteless IMO.

Lj8893 · 18/06/2016 19:44

Who said they were drunk? And wearing tacky costumes?

dementedma · 18/06/2016 20:00

No-one. Just basing it on every hen group I have ever seen, including the group at Kings Cross last week wearing tutus, carrying huge inflatable dicks and totally shit faced even though it was early afternoon. Class act!

Crispbutty · 18/06/2016 20:04

It was also probably planned and paid for before the events this week. I wouldn't put any connection with seeing this and the horrific deaths that have sadly happened this week.

PovertyPain · 18/06/2016 20:09

I wish I'd dressed up in tackier clothes when I was younger and got drunk more often.

Better to have regret for the things you have done than the things you never tried. Life's too short to worry about what other people do.

Don't understand what's the problem really Hmm
