To feel like this world is going to shit right now?

I am just so sad right now. My heart is breaking over so many innocent people killed in recent months. Terrorist attacks around the world, overflowing refugee camps housing people fleeing from war, people shot for seemingly no reason other than their sexuality, an MP shot doing her job. When will it stop ffs? What on earth is going on?

I feel right now like I just want to get off the world. I really don't want to live in a world with such malice, hatred and spite in it. I can normally feel sad but then let things wash over me. Not anymore though. It's too much. So much darkness it is horrible. The weather is matching it as well. Dark, cloudy, dreary, fucked up and all over the place.

Does anyone else want to bail?

I'm feeling shattered as well and really fearful of the future. I so glad it's not just me.

I grew up in a civil war and we experienced genocide in my part of the country, but I think I always balanced the awfulness there against a belief there were better places in the world and one day we could be like them. Now I feel like I don't know where those places are.

Last night I said to DH that it felt as if we'd reached a pinnacle of tolerance here, and everything was now starting to backslide and I don't know how far and how fast it will unravel.

The fact that a man like Trump could ever get as far as he has in the American political process fills me with disbelief. Farage's poster is beyond despicable. Someone on Twitter showed it was comparable to Nazi propaganda. What bothers me is not that he did it, but that he must be confident a significant number of people in Britain are willing to believe it and see it as truth.

It's always been like this...now they're just scared because they've got noone left who is willing to fight or who are asking too many uncomfortable questions about past and present events. The corruption has always been there...think how many of us they slaughtered in WW1/2.
