Putting DD to bed and I trumped. Rather long. And rather loud.

DD looked shocked and said 'bloody hell mummy, was that you?'

She's 3.5. I honestly couldn't help but laugh!

Will pull her if she says it again but she's never said it before so it took me by surprise and caught me out!

Euphemia Your DD may not actually use any swearwords at 14, but I bet she knows them all. Schools can be the worst place to hear them! Grin

Ha ha brilliant! My almost two year old clearly told a couple of pigeons in the garden to "bugger off" yesterday!
Before anyone calls Social Services she was just copying what she's heard DH say (only once) as the birds kept eating the grass seed and he tried to scare them off!

DD1 was around 8 years old and we were watching a film on TV. I can't remember the name of it, but there were people buried because of an avalanche and people had to go up with some extremely volatile explosive. She obviously took in the bit where they emphasised that.

The person carrying it in their backpack slipped and we all expected the explosives to go off and she shouted 'Oh bollocks'.

Me and now ExH both just burst out laughing, never having heard anything like that from her sweet little mouth before! Grin

So does everyone fart/burp out loud in front of their kids? Mine is due in September and I'm a bit worried that if they hear their dad being loud and proud they'll think it's ok to do the same? In public? Or am I being really prissy?!?

Sorry for the hijack op.. Pretty certain my kids will accidentally hear me swear more than once.. Blush

I don't actually class bloody he'll as swearing.
My 19 month old and 2 1/2 year olds favourite phrase is oh shit because they heard them out in public. I just ignore it it will stop soon and to be honest it's hard not to laugh they use it as such appropriate times too.

My baby sister used to call me "Bloody Evans" Grin think the parents must have gotten frustrated at me a few times in my tween ages.

Haha, I was so nervous about looking back on here as I thought I'd be skinned alive!

But honestly it just tickled me so much I had to share it!.

And yes... Blush I own up to tooting!.

Been feeling down these last few days and that has cheered me up so much!.

I don't class a Bloody hell as swearing, rather, not appropriate for a child to say but also, I have to say, she got it in the right context, and for comedic effect Grin

Glad we made a few people Grin!

I had this with dd(age 4) " bloody thing is not working" followed by a massive debate between me and her wether it's a bad word or not. Nearly by her with " remember when i had blood on my finger and you said bloody finger? That wasn't naughty" . We had to agree to not to call anything bloody unless it's actually bleeding GrinGrinGrin

My 3 yr old shouted out 'Great fires of London!' when something shocked him a while ago. It's from fireman Sam but was so funny to hear him use as a 'child swear'.

I swear a lot around the kids(3,1,6mths). I find it hard not to when things get very on top of me. But I know the minute I hear the eldest properly curse will be the moment I fully keep my trap shut (and bang my head on the wall instead). My parents never once swore throughout my whole childhood. Not even shit or bloody or a mild swear. My mum told me the other day that when we started to talk was when they made huge efforts to stop swearing. I was shocked that they used to curse before us!!!!

So funny when your child swears for the first time, but very difficult to keep a straight face whilst you explain that it's wrong!

'Was that YOUR arse mummy?!' With a look of surprise Grin
