To post here instead of site stuff in the hope that something might get done?

I am very, very good at rtft.

I am very, very bad at remembering to check to date of the OP on every thread I read.

I am very, very fed up at wading through several dozen, million pages of posts only to find it is a zombie thread.

Surely, for the love of God, MNHQ could add a zombie warning at the beginning of the thread?

I know this has come up in site stuff time and time again, but just trying here for the clamour of voices to join in!

That tends to be twats when it's a subject that's been done to death ("it's lazy not to bf" / "boarding school is bad parenting" / "children just need a good smack"). If it's less contentious it's totes legit to start a new thread.

Toooldtobearsed · 14/06/2016 16:49

I came here on a zombie thread, googling brought it up and whilst i would not like to see it deleted, to read, be interested and have something to contribute, well.....it is frustrating to find that it is months or even years out of date.

As for mnhq not reading posts, i know. But this subject has come up time and time again on site stuff, which they do read and nothing has happened.

I have no problem with reading a zombie thread, as long as i know that when i start.

And yes, i will try to train myself to check the date before settling in for the next hour😆

Oh, and nothing wrong with starting a new thread on an old subject. I know it might be a 'ffs' moment for a lot of long termers, but new peoplemare joining the site every day who can contribute.

And if the search function was anywhere near half way decent, it would help!

But i love MN really😊

I just found a zombie thread complaining that the zombie thread warning isn't enough....

I really want to revive it......

As I always say on these threads, if Advanced Search gave results in date order, newest first, instead of topic order, there'd be far fewer zombie revivals.

Rusty, yes, precisely.

I find searching to be a complete pain in the bum, nearly as much as zombie threads😡

Thanks for this =I'm not sure what the tech reason behind the precise location of the zombie warning, will see what we can do.
But YABU to post here instead of site stuff -we'll move this over
It's SO much better go keep site based threads in one place.
Thanks
MNHQ

Olivia it's all well and good moaning that this thread is in the 'wrong' place, but op had good reason for doing so. Are the threads posted in 'site stuff' reviewed daily?

Toooldtobearsed · 14/06/2016 19:18

Olivia, i am sorry, have given myself a slap......... but this has been brought up on site stuff a few times and nothing has happened.

Sorry😶😶consider me chastised.

I agree really that if the warning was at beginning and end then at least you are aware, they are sometimes useful but often not, i have often got engrossed in one and seen long forgotten poster names and thought oooh xx is back! only to find that actually no they aren't, its a ZOMBIE thread. so yes pleas MNHQ if the warning could be at both ends that would be fab, I have asked this on site stuff before too.

callherwillow · 14/06/2016 20:48

I honestly don't get the issue

Toooldtobearsed · 14/06/2016 21:31

Happy for you Willow 😆

I'm another who understands OP posting here and would find zombie posted at both start and end.
