Because ARGH! They take soooo looong... with a toddler shouting "is it done?" every 5 seconds for an hour. They're so fiddly.... making jupiter from fireman sam out of a glossy magazine cover is NOT FUN. An hours work for 20 seconds of toddler amusement. Argh! Surely hardly anyone bothers with these?

irritable in that case I've probably done it wrong haha, I didn't follow the instructions just cut it out and folded and stuck (didn't realise there were instructions till after) so maybe it will all fall apart tomorrow

Whenever we make some crappy model thing it ends up cluttering up the house as I feel bad at binning it. Same with the endless sheets of scribbles the nursery sends home. I should be more ruthless.
We don't normally make stuff though unless we happen to have exactly what's needed and it looks really easy.

Iambubbles86. I suspect you have not done it wrong, did not need the instructions, and are just generally more competent at building cardboard fire engines than I am. But we both know the bloody things will fall apart tomorrow anyway.
