Sorry bakeoff in my eagerness to post i didnt notice your comment.

TheNaze73 · 11/06/2016 00:00

Seems a genuine enough guy but, I have no idea how he'd fund his ideas?? Good opposition/protest politician but, don't think he'll appeal to the middle ground that swing elections. Think they need Dan Jarvis or David Miliband leading them, if they ever want to run the country again. Admire Corbyn for his principles though

TrollTrekkingAcrossTheUniverse · 11/06/2016 00:00

There's more than a touch of the Jedi about him - but guessing that's not what you meant Wink

twirlypoo · 11/06/2016 00:10

My friend played him in the play they did about him recently - I can't look at him without thinking of him, so it's a bit yucky weird for me! (And I never thought of it before so can't think back to a time pre-eewwww ness!)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/06/2016 00:11

Have you all seen the Green Party advert, with the little boy who another child refers to as 'Jemery'? He's absolutely gorgeous.

Ankleswingers · 11/06/2016 00:12

Lord no. Not ever. < shudders>

MrsSpecter · 11/06/2016 00:13

I watched it as someone who has paid zero attention to corbyn and thought what a charmless man with zero appeal. I sat Confused about what i've heard others rave about. I cant see it at all.

cosmicquiteprobably · 11/06/2016 00:32

I love his morals, and his refusal to get involved in the 'tit for tat' crap.
He is truly a sincere socialist, and pacifist. I am astonished that he was elected, given the vitriol he receives for not being 'just vaguely left of the middle'. He actually gives a shit, instead of playing political games. I would love it if he became PM.
My eldest DD (13) thinks he is like 'a lovely old granddad'. Smile
Ex-H's family are born Tories. Amusing, as he was decidedly working class when we met, and I was mocked (by him),for being middle class.
I have raised my children to have socialist views. It causes fabulous arguments in their house! She is rather intellectual, and understands politics better than they do. I did study politics, so have given her a more comprehensive view than most parents, although obviously biased towards socialism.
I see JC as human, whereas DC is a privileged twat with little understanding of real life. I was never enamoured with Ed Miliband due to his pseudo socialism, although David Miliband was quite beautiful, and seemed more believable.
I cannot forgive him for 'banana gate'.
Sad

hownottofuckup · 11/06/2016 00:34

I'd totally do him.

Asprilla11 · 11/06/2016 00:38

I think ideally you would have JC in the background writing all the policies and set out the course the party will take but you would have a different person to be leader, a figurehead that will appeal to more people.

I think to be an appealing leader and a PM you need a certain confidence/slight arrogance about you which JC perhaps hasn't got.

MargotLovedTom · 11/06/2016 00:38

Christ no way.

I hate myself for this but I'm sometimes bizarrely attracted to Osborne. I once posted about this before. There's something, sometimes, camera angle, whatever, where he has a resemblance to John Cusack who I love. Another poster agreed with me, in my defence.

BillSykesDog · 11/06/2016 00:54

He looks like my Dad. And he wears vests. Even my Dad doesn't do that.

That's easy. We have record low interest rates, so we borrow at near zirp and soon to be nirp and use it in two ways. One, use it to build infrastructure for the public good instead of building it and giving it to private corporations, and 2, put £10k in every citizen over 18s bank account to get our consumer led economy moving. The effect of the 1st would be well paid jobs, the effect of 2 would be GDP being raised due to increased spending. The combined effect would be an increase in inflation and the ability of the BoE MPC to raise interest rates and let the zombie banks die.

Austerity as it;s promoted by Gidiot and the IMF is counter productive. Taking money from the poorest reduces our spending power, therefore we spend less so GDP goes down. So we spend less, retailers lose out, and ultimately so do manufacturers.

As for Corbyn, he's the reason I'll be voting Labour at the next election, something I swore I'd never do after Blair decided to ignore history and invaded Afghanistan with all the evidence of 9/11 being backed with Saudi money and personnel.

BirthdayBetty · 11/06/2016 01:15

Gidiot Grin
Another JC fan here.

ABCAlwaysBeCunting · 11/06/2016 01:15

I cannot see any sexual appeal in Corbyn. He has the look of someone who might feel guilty afterwards, try and discuss the miners' strike or play The Smiths on an actual record player while dissecting the meaning of the lyrics.

On the political front, it's sort of odd I think because people have got used to the Left being like proper socialists who got a TOWIE makeover and are now shiny but cool in a geeky way and loved by actors and pop stars. Corbyn is the one who actually still had some socialist-type beliefs so people don't know whether to freak out or embrace him as vintage.

ForalltheSaints · 11/06/2016 07:30

I cannot imagine the repeat of Milifandom myself. I see him as someone who is a long time campaigner who never thought he would be elected as leader.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 11/06/2016 07:37

JC definitely features in my thoughts. YANBU OP!

londonrach · 11/06/2016 07:38

Hands a lot of mntters some glasses! No accounting for taste is there. I dont trust anyone in politics any further than i can throw them and thats not far🤗

maninawomansworld01 · 15/06/2016 00:08

He comes across as a very personable man. He seems to truly believe in his politics and his heart seems to be in the right place,

Unfortunately it takes more than good intentions to run a country abc I happen to thoroughly disagree with the vast majority of his policies.
A nice enough chap but God help this country if he ever becomes pm

Savemefromwine · 15/06/2016 00:13

God no as wet as piss! You have a very low bar op Confused
