Party poppers in kids' party bags?!

DD came home today with two party poppers in her treat bag. This is the third or forth time it has happened over the past could of years. She's 6. AIBU or is this completely irresponsible?! I have to look through bags before giving them over! Does it happen anywhere else or is it only in my small town?

Clearly I'm not the only one who read the thread title as "poppers". :o

I always just check any party bags before DS can rifle through them, then confiscate any 'contraband'.

Fucksake. So your child might hurt itself. Isn't that part of growing up and learning what works and what doesn't?

You have to be a certain age to buy glue but that doesn't mean you wouldn't give that to kids.

YABU. I had them in party bags when I was little and so did my little sister. No black eyes or lost limbs.

What about those kids who think it is a good idea to let them off on the way home in the car, inches from the drivers face?

Ooh I love a party popper and iirc I probably did put them in party bags when mine were doing that thing.,< racks brain >.

Never called up by irate parents complaining about my negligence, perhaps they were like me and did them too.
