They still seem to be making them, even though there has been campaigns for years about how bad they are . They aren't affective and there are plenty of natural effective ways that do work to exfoliate.

Boots have just sent me a mail with offers including Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Oil-Free Daily Scrub - by J&J and they are still in it! :

Ingredients
Aqua, Cetyl Alcohol, PPG-15 Stearyl Ether, Polyethlene, Cera Microcristallina, Steareth-21, Salicylic Acid, Polysorbate 60, Panthenol, Chamomilla Recutita Extrac, Aloe Barbadensis Gel, Bisabolol, Jojoba Esters, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Propylene Glycol, Glucose, Butylene
Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Menthyl Lactate, BHT, Parfum
Do people still not know about all this plastic pollution?

feellike I'm so sorry I haven't got back to this before now!

Proginoskes - do you have any tips for rosacea? I've been battling it for over a decade.

I'm still in early days, so we're on "first-line" treatments. I wash my face before bed with Cetaphil cleanser with some baking soda mixed in for exfoliation, and then apply a coating of metronidazole antibiotic gel that stays on overnight. In the morning I clean my face with Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner before applying a light moisturizer and that's really it. When I was first diagnosed I had the ugly red bumps under the skin that were painful, now (sixish months on) I have a few areas of discolouration from them but for the most part the only sign of the rosacea is the slightly sunburnt look across my nose and cheeks - I'm ghost-pale, pale enough that nurses exclaim over being able to see ALLLLL the veins in my forearms, so the slightest bit of sun pinks me up.

I didn't know about this issue before. Useful to know Smile

I always use a flannel and a bar of dove, works fine and I always feel so soft and clean afterwards. Smooths my skin much more effectively than any scrub. That said my skin isn't remotely sensitive, luckily.

Proginoskes Brilliant thanks, sorry it's my fault I should of sent a PM. (wish MN had the ability to quote and tell people when they have been quoted)

I'm a long way in still trying natural stuff, I manage to keep it at bay but it still comes back now and again. I'm glad your getting results, I should book in to see my GP and get the antibiotic gel, I assume its prescription.

I don't understand the need for these scrubs. A brisk rub with a face cloth does it for me.
