To ask for your help in what exercise I can do?

I've not done any meaningful exercise since having my DS' about 3 years ago but I'm becoming worried about the impact on my health as I've become very unfit.

The problem is, a lot of the exercise that would be easy for me to do (eg running - flexible, cheap, sociable) I can't do for physical reasons. At the moment I have to avoid high impact exercise.

So I'm looking for something that is:
Low/minimal impact
Cardiovascular
No heavy strain of abdominal or pelvic muscles (eg rowing, heavy weights or horse riding would be a no)
Fun, sociable/ team oriented ie not the gym
Cheap or free
Requires no level of skill
Is not swimming
Can be done in sessions

Search for a Nordic walking group near you. Low impact but does a lot more than walking.

I do ballet. I cant do repetitive exercises (running, swimming, walking) due to dodgy post birth hips and back. And have just started doing yoga at home.

Rollerblading!
There is a group that does it in the park near me. They have all abilities, with a few experienced people at the front and back, and various speed groups. Some of them work up quite a sweat!

Definitely not trampolining with a prolapse, also rules out kettlebells which I loved until my prolapse last year.

My go-to all purpose at home exercise is Leslie Sansone walk DVDs. Not sociable, because you do then at home, but cheap, effective and very easy to fit in around your childcare needs.

I have power walked for years, and was quite sceptical that a DVD could add anything new but I love it.

It's kind of a mix of walking and low impact aerobics, I do it in the kitchen or living room, surprisingly effective. Helped me lose 3 stone and keep it off for 5 years.

Worth a try. Vidoes on YouTube or DVds on Amazon.

Once you are familiar with it, you can play the workout on a laptop or tablet and watch TV at the same time which helps with the boredom factor.
