Salad cream on stir fry.

Husband appears incapable of eating any meal without ketchup/brown/mayo/salad cream. Apart from curry. Salad cream goes on lasagne, pasta and bloody stir fry! All home cooked from scratch. Abu to be a bit pissed off about it? I know he's an adult and can eat what he wants but makes me wonder why I bother cooking nice tasty food.

No it doesn't. Dear God, there's another one?

I am on the side that thinks if these condements were served in a dish with a spoon like mint sauce (which is way more over powering than salad cream or ketchup) then it would be totally fine to put on any dish

VoldysGoneMouldy · 29/05/2016 20:22

DH puts pepper on everything without tasting it first and that pisses me off.

But salad cream on stir fry?! Shock

LTB.

I don't get why people are bothered by this Confused Surely adults can put whatever they want on their meals?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 29/05/2016 20:24

Mine is the opposite, he never cooks sauce as part of a meal and will dish up say, dry pasta, a steamed fish filler and steamed veg. Or a stir fry that consists only of meat and veg. Or a roast with no gravy. I can't face food as plain as that so I am often the one adding sweet chilli sauce, ketchup, salad cream or whatever.

Blimey, it would appear there's at least two of them.

Sparrowlegs248 · 29/05/2016 20:32

If he cooked the food himself I wouldn't care. If he even tasted itfirst. Who tastes a stir fry, and think 'mmmm, missing some cheap vinegry condiment.....'

Can't believe this bothers people that much..... Surely there are worse things he can do!

U have come on to ask if YABU and the answer is yes!

liquidrevolution · 29/05/2016 21:01

My DH is not as bad as the OPs. But what annoys me more is that he doesnt taste his food before deciding he needs extra condiments.

I make a salmon with a cream pesto topping - he will then cover in tartare sauce because he has been conditioned to add tartare to everything fishy and mustard to beef etc. Hmm

Its very rude and I do tell him this but he cant seem to stop. Angry

Next time I notice this I shall ask if his mums cooking was always so bland that he needed to smother it in sauce and see what reaction I get Wink Grin

It is a culinary abomination to eat veg lasagne without salad cream IMO.

Long live condiments.

EveryoneElsie · 29/05/2016 21:12

Salad cream on prawns. Salad cream on pasta. I see nothing wrong here

steppemum · 29/05/2016 21:13

THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH SALAD CREAM

(just not on stir fry!)

seriously, I hate mayo, creamy bland yuck. I love a bit of salad cream with a tangy edge. But on salad obviously.

AddisonBlue · 29/05/2016 21:14

Salad cream on pasta bake, one of my favourite meals. On stir fry sounds a bit wrong though.

PerryHatter · 29/05/2016 22:50

Fucking love salad cream. I love it on salad that's been paired with lasagne. Lush.
