Electric scooter & would you report it?

So my ds wants to ride an electric scooter and as I understand it they aren't legal to ride unless you have a private land owner's permission. We have a big farmer's field nearby with footpaths that people use for cycling or walking the dogs ( only very few people, you rarely see someone there) My DH says someone will see him on the scooter and report to the police and be might get a juvenile criminal record. Would you report it?

The road was next to a common and had a gate as they used to film casualty there a lot. You could also go through the common to the start of the road. Now it's full of dog poo and no-one films anything or plays there anymore.

Police round here seize and crush these things if they are caught on pavements. Big push since two teenagers died riding them round a park with no helmets and crashed. So yes, I would report for their own safety as much as anything.

That sounds sad and horrible Brandnew - what a waste of outdoor space where kids could play. They could play without it being on unlicensed and uninsured motor vehicles though!

I think whether your son gets "reported" will depend on whether he makes other people feel unsafe - or that their kids are unsafe Bread If he's riding it on public roads or even worse footpaths / pavements in orxer to access the field road he would deserve to be reported.
