To think this video is unpleasant? Baby delivering itself

This video is doing the rounds atm.

It apparently shows a natural c section, where the baby wriggles itself out.

I watched it and actually found it a little bit upsetting, it didn't look to me as though the baby delivered itself. The doctor appeared to be pulling the baby by his head. Then instead of giving the baby straight to is mum he seemed to be kept crying for much longer than necessary.

What is this all about?

I'm not sure why this is being reported on as 'new'. This was talked about when I had my first section- ten years ago.

When DS1 was born by C-section there was an almighty amount of tugging, pulling and yanking to get him out. (Saw the amount of activity and DH watched it). Normal c-sections all happen with such a rush (though mine was elective as breech). This seemed very calm and gentle in comparison.

I think I'd prefer this approach to mine.

I have no problem with that video

In fact it looks a lot more natural than all the videos of a convential c-section. It actually looks like a vaginal birth just through the stomach instead.

Yes it looks a bit distressing especially when they cry but all babies cry when they have been born
