OMG that photo of DN is wonderful! :)

TendonQueen · 16/05/2016 18:11

Just read page one of the original thread. So she didn't want 'bridesmaids' but did want them all to wear the same extensive thing and expected you to pay for it? Ha ha ha! Minecraft dress it is.

AuntJane · 16/05/2016 18:18

The green Minecraft tutu dress is wonderful!

Osolea · 16/05/2016 18:19

I need more details about the multiple messages and email rows.

How has she tried to justify herself when being told she's asking too much?

Trumpton · 16/05/2016 18:23

PotterBot. You are my sort of person !

PotterBot · 16/05/2016 18:29

I wasn't privy to all of them. I just got a tetchy group text message saying ' apparently my wish for all the children to dress the same is not very popular. Shame really as its my special day, you all knew when it was going to be, so had enough time to plan. Your children can wear what the fuck they want.'

I didn't bother responding to it.

Wow can see why your DH's brother thinks she's marriage material.....?! Confused Is she going to stamp her feet and scweem and scweem too.

PotterBot · 16/05/2016 18:36

Apparently it's a 'very stressful time for her'

OP posts:
LadyGrey16 · 16/05/2016 18:46

Oh dear, the wedding day has soap opera disaster potential written all over it if she's that stressed out about it already..

NeverbuytheDailyMail · 16/05/2016 18:51

OOOFT! I honestly didn't think that people like that actually existed. Who does that? Minecraft dress sounds awesome !

AyeAmarok · 16/05/2016 18:51

Shame really as its my special day, you all knew when it was going to be, so had enough time to plan.

Yikes. What a self-centred cow!

RedToothBrush · 16/05/2016 18:55

Oh so it wasn't just you who told her she was being batshit.

Good result.

Go for minecraft...

StubblyLegs · 16/05/2016 18:56

Personally, I'd be tempted to temporarily dye my hair an outrageous neon colour to really fuck with her/the family photographs if that's her attitude, the silly precious fucker, but then I'm bolshy like that!

AugustaFinkNottle · 16/05/2016 18:58

Since when did "having enough time to plan" mean "paying out for an expensive dress that your children will never wear again"? I take it that in her mind "enough time to plan" equates to "saving up enough money to pander to my every wish"?

PovertyPain · 16/05/2016 19:14

Yabrrrrreallyu OP.

You had plenty of time to take on a second job to pay for the dresses. It's not as if you have bills to pay or a family to support.....oh, that's right! She's a dick! Grin

wallybantersjunkbox · 16/05/2016 19:15

If you pick Lord of the Rings can you please ask your DH to change into a Gollum outfit for the disco?

StickyProblem · 16/05/2016 20:19

That green creeper tutu is fab!!

PotterBot · 16/05/2016 20:50

The dresses are being discussed at length. Oldest Dd said 'wait i didn't know it was fancy dress' and now oldest and youngest are arguing over who gets to go as Hermione.

Middle one is whatsapping me minecraft cakes and dresses as I type .

I'm going to go balls out and dress gladriel. Dp who is rolling his eyes a lot is going to be shoe horned into an Aragon outfit so I can live out that fantasy.

Bogeyface · 16/05/2016 21:07

Its odd because I was just thinking about this saga today and wondering what the outcome was Potter

I notice that its "my" special day and not "our", says it all really! And she still doesnt get it does she? Even if I had millions lying around doing nothing, I would not pay out for dresses that wont be worn again, may not even be available at a time I would buy wedding outfits (no further ahead than 6 weeks in case of growth spurts) and are being demanded by a Bridezilla. Its not about the money and being prepared!

May I suggest that you get together with all the other pissed off parents and make sure that they all wear the same dress but in the wrong colour? :o

YorkieDorkie · 16/05/2016 21:08

Result!! I loved the first thread, I'm very happy it's been resolved in your favour! WineCake

BeYourselfUnlessUCanBeAUnicorn · 16/05/2016 21:24

Ha ha, Gladrial looks amazing, you could totally rock that. Failing LOTR, plenty of HP characters if one of your DDs is looking at Hermoine. In fact I want to get married again and have a HP wedding in the Great Hall at the studio tour! I would wet myself if your whole family rock up in fancy dress. Grin We would need photos of course!

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 16/05/2016 21:56

Wait, did I really read that the bride has four children of her own? and top of her stress list is what umpteen other children wear to her wedding when she already has four bridesmaids? Confused

My DD got caught by a bride dictating what bridesmaids wore, great expense, nothing that would ever have been chosen by the BMs and couldn't be worn again or sold. Hair and makeup again booked by bride but not paid for. Matching shoes, travel, accommodation, a gift and all that after being paupered by the Hen do too.

It's beyond a joke this splurging on other people's weddings.

DoubleNegativePanda · 18/10/2017 03:15

I know this is a zombie thread, but I searched my own name looking for something else and am supremely chuffed to have my hobbit remembered Smile

FoodGloriousFud · 18/10/2017 03:27

Would love to see your wedding photos! She sounds amazing!

DoubleNegativePanda · 18/10/2017 03:42

Grin here you go, food

What I really want to know is if the OP actually showed up to the wedding as Galadriel!
