Leaving the EU?

It feels like a done deal to me. Everyone I know is voting leave.

Apart from me!

I'm fairly convinced we'll be staying in. Literally everyone I know is voting to stay.

JennyOnAPlate · 15/05/2016 18:23

Most people I know are voting to stay. There's a couple of Facebook friends voting to leave because of "all those immigrants taking our jobs" Hmm

jollygoose · 15/05/2016 18:24

I am voting out - lets have more money to spend on schools and nhs and I cannot begin to imagine how this country will stem the tide when Turkey and Albania join the EU.

ThoraGruntwhistle · 15/05/2016 18:26

I think the Leave voters are making more noise, but I know more people who are voting to stay. So I honestly don't know. Helpful Grin

YorkieDorkie · 15/05/2016 18:27

I think my husband's job may depend on us staying in Sad.

TheSnowFairy · 15/05/2016 18:29

Everyone I know is voting to stay in.

AdrenalineFudge · 15/05/2016 18:30

Yup Penguin, I am indeed utterly confused and in truth bewildered. This morning I had to consult the instructions in order to work out how to switch on my kettle. In fact I'm just punching my keyboard and hoping for something comprehensible. I don't know how I manage. I just don't. The high road isn't that nice looking, just thought I'd report back from my high roadiness Grin.

AdrenalineFudge · 15/05/2016 18:33

Oddly enough I didn't actually disagree with you if you'd read what I said. But fair enough - my unadulterated confusion really knows no bounds. I'll seek help on the 4th Tuesday of the 3rd month next year.

nonline · 15/05/2016 18:35

Jollygoose- that rather depends on govt wanting to invest in and keep a good education system and NHS. Which they don't.

TwoLittleBlooms · 15/05/2016 18:38

I'm voting in and quite a lot of people I know are voting in. Unfortunately my husband is voting out.

AdrenalineFudge · 15/05/2016 18:49

Remember Cameron's election when everyone thought it'd be a case of another coalition government but in the end he won an outright majority in order to govern as a single party and there was a lot of hoo-haa about the so-called 'shy' tories, i.e. people that voted Tory but didn't vocalise it. I think it'll be the same sort of thing with the EU ref. A lot of people won't necessarily vocalise that they are intending to vote out but they will and we'll end up with a (slight) majority leave vote.
Happy to come back to this thread and others in 6 weeks or so to see if what we predicated came to pass.

MagratsFlyawayHair · 15/05/2016 18:50

None of the people I know who are voting to leave have based it on immigration or any racist feeling

Capricorn76 · 15/05/2016 18:58

Many People may feel they want Brexit but on the day they will think about the economy and their jobs and vote to stay in.

LiveLaughLoveDrinkGin · 15/05/2016 19:05

I hope people have the guts to vote out, then we won't have to hang onto people from other countries who have committed violent crimes in Britain, and are then allowed to stay here because are all part of the EU!
