I just had a phone call saying they are an accident company.
me: and what accident was I meant to be involved with?
scammers: (sheepishly) a car accident.
me: well I don't drive so when did this accident meant to have happened?
scammers:

did I upset him?

I had a call the other day asking about my accident and there was £3k set aside for me. I played along and said great yes I did have an accident and could they issue me this money. They got all excited and asked me what happened I said my bloody husband put his foot out and tripped me up the phone line went dead so don't think they was on about that accident. Wink

good way to start the morning, a good chuckle.

wonder what fun we'll have today xD.

I need to think of some good stories to tell them "I didn't know what happened, I swear it was an accident. I couldn't control it. it just slipped out....will the claim cover the cost of Tenna ladies?"

how did you go that long without thinking about it?

I usually tell them that I'm really sorry, the accident must have caused severe amnesia as I've no recollection of it. Most of them apologise and hang up at that point However, one more ambitious lady calmly informed me

"yes, we've negotiated a settlement that takes account of the amnesia, we just need a bit more information from you"

parmalilac · 11/05/2016 08:21

I say "you're breaking the law by calling this number" which usually does the trick. If you are registered with the TPS then companies can be fined if they continue to call you. I've never had to explain that far ..

Snog · 11/05/2016 08:26

I'm thinking of asking "what colour underwear are you wearing today" but worries I may get arrested if I do Grin

Daffodil90 · 11/05/2016 08:47

feelingsolow12345 no idea, possibly because I moved work location....the radio station tuned in in my old goods in room used to play a pre-chat/game tune thing and EVERYTIME it came on I lost the game.

My new goods in room doesn't have a radio Sad

And I had a baby, so I'm now forever forgetful Wink

Feelingsolow12345 · 11/05/2016 08:48

so if my number isn't listed as a public one then they can be fined for it :O I never knew this

what if you did ask snog wonder what their reply will be? "oh the usual Bridget Jones pants" "but you're male" "they're rather comfy"
