So I'm getting married tomorrow and the forecast is heavy rain, large hail, drenching downpours and damaging wind haha. Any stories or advice??

Good morning :-) thank you so much everyone, skies are looking beautiful at the moment so I might be lucky but if not thanks for you lovely stories to remind me that despite the weather today will still be one of the best days of my life

On the day I got married it was during a howling gale and the weather was freezing.
We survived and have been married for almost 30 years.

The weather was so bad on our wedding day the marquee guys came to check the marquee wouldn't blow away.

Congratulations and enjoy your day whatever the weather brings

SIL got married on the wettest day of the year, on a farm. Half way through the day we had to hose the bottom of her dress in the shower to get the mud out, and then dry it with hair dryers. She still had a lovely day!

The worst wedding, weather-wise, that I have been to was on an incredibly hot and sunny day in June, in a Tudor barn (all dark wood and no aircon) the poor bride spent the whole day practically fainting from the heat and everyone's hair and make up completely sweated off!

It's lucky for it to rain on your wedding day! We were meant to have an outdoor ceremony, the week before was absolutely glorious (June), but it rained all day until after the ceremony so ended up having an indoor ceremony. Brightened up for the evening!

It was absolutely sweltering on my sister's birthday, which was so so unpleasant! We thought my grandad was going to kick the bucket, he was panting it was so hot. That's 'bad weather'! (Or bad planning as a lot of it was outside Wink)

Good luck :)

Best wedding I've ever been to was wet, windy and cold. It was an amazing day. No one cared about the weather they were too happy.

Enjoy your day.
