To cook a fillet steak with mold on?!

I know it sounds ridic but AIBU to cut off the white whiskers of mold that have appeared on a horribly expensive lump of organic fillet steak?

Or will I kill us all?

I thought mould was bacterial!?

It's weird that it's just along that one flat part of the meat where it was cut, though. Meat doesn't go off like that.
