He is 9 and has a statement of sn. Rituals and certain items make him feel secure. Over the year he has earnt three metal merit badges in school and putting them on his jumper and wearing them is an essential part of his routine. He lost one earlier in the year and was given a replacement by school. He now lost another one and was told he couldn't have another replacement. Aibu to think the school should allow him another replacement in light of his circumstances?

Totally get why your ds is so upset about it, my ds has ASD and would be the same. Dd doesn't have ASD but was really upset when dh put her reading award badge through the washing machine and it fell to pieces we lost her reading award badge, so I sourced some online and now have a stock.

Here are a few links that might help you track the right one down.

School merit stickers (they sell enamel and other types of badge as well.

School badge store

Rewards 4 schools

Trophy Store

Hopefully one of them will have some, if not try Ebay.

That said, I would still want the school to understand what a big deal it was for my ds, so would follow it up with them as well.

OP, is there a way you can secure them better to his sweater?
