To ask for a tenner for petrol?

I sold something on EBay earlier and when they came to collect it it wouldn't fit in their car. ( I had given them accurate measurements). I said that I would be able to take it to them tomorrow, for petrol costs. I ha looked up where the buyer lives and it would be a round trip of about 52 miles. Would a tenner be about right?
I know the cost will depend on the car size, traffic conditions, etc etc and I don't want to diddle her but equally I don't want to be out of pocket.

I think that's really reasonable. They're lucky you've offered to do that!

104 miles at 10p a mile is a bargain.

That's too cheap! I'd ask 20.

Thanks very much. I don't want to be grasping but a man and van would be at least £35 per hour. She asked how much it would be and obviously I didn't know but ten pounds seems reasonable to me ( and to you too!)

I think you are being generous, considering how much of your time this is taking up too.
Business mileage generally gets paid at 45p/mile, which would be £23.40
If they had to pay for 'a man and a van' it would cost them a LOT more.
