And asking for a refund?

I do regularly donate to charity and have been involved in various fund raising events-just to set the scene!

I was in a charity shop recently and found a beautiful designer shirt for DH for £15. I took it home for him but it did not fit unfortunately. So the following week I took it back.

They said they did refunds but I was made to feel most unwelcome and the manager doing the refund even made a comment on my ring - but not in a nice way.

It made me think I was out of order to return it, given that it is a charity.

Wibu?

(Don't have kids.)

TBF, I used to work in the PDSA in Harrow and they've been selling stuff from companies for a long time-i volunteered there years and years ago. As staff we were to pretend they were run-of-the-mill donations.

Charity shops nowadays over charge for what is basically donations or gift aids yes its for charity but only a certain percentage will actually go to the cause the rest goes in the pockets of the administrators so hell get refunds for goods you brought it is still part of your consumers rights.

I work as a volunteer for a v fine charity and I wouldn't hesitate to bring something back.

15 quid?? That's a week's food money. Do it.

What charity was it?

Janiekernow -- I would imagine providing fitting rooms might reduce the volume of returns, which must be a pita for charity shops.
