Ignore its existence or, better yet, say "meh dont think id enjoy that" to the recommenders.

Then finally watch one, get hooked and binge watch the lot.

It's happening now with Grey's Anatomy. Barely knew it existed, watched episode one a few days ago and now Im hooked.

I did the same with Modern Family - DH was insistent I watch it, "nah a mockumentary? No thanks" - bloody love it. I now hassle him to watch it.

And I actually used to refer to The Big Bang Theory as "That big bang shite" - It was aaaaalways on, and in no definable order. One day I started at the beginning and am now an addict.

Thank god there are 13 seasons of Grey's for me.

I loathe the idea of binge watching. I like a bit of variety, and I like having time between episodes to mull things over.

I also don't mind the wait, and having something to look forward to. Delayed gratification is good for you!

OP, be prepared for all the feels! I love it but fuck me it doesn't half exhaust you!

Private Practice follows Addison if you've met her yet and is worth a binge watch if you like medically stuff.

DH has been binge watching pretty little liars, he is addicted. He got me the first 4 books to try and entice me in! He also did sons of anarchy in about 10 days.

House I keep meaning to go back and watch, excellent idea PP!

writes off next 6 months of maternity leave to binge watching, sorry baby

It'll make you feel every emotion you've ever known and some you didn't know you could feel! I'm excited for you watching it for the first time I'm a saddo who talks about them like they're my friends though

The first series of parks and recreation is a bit of a dud, the character of Lesley Knope was rewritten to be cleverer and more likeable from series 2 onwards. Likewise Andy is less selfish and spoilt in subsequent series too. Getting rod of Lesley's (unrequited) love interest Mark was a great move too as in real life Lesley would have told him to get to fuck years ago.

It gets really, really, really good when Rob Lowe rocks up and the supporting cast (Donna & Jerry) get a bit more screentime.

In fact, just skip the fits series altogether.

Jealous. I love greys anatomy, wish I could watch it from the beginning without knowing what's going to happen. Lots of 😢
It does go downhill in the later seasons though.

I call myself a backwards hipster because of this Grin.

Generally speaking when something is massive and everyone's into it I don't take to it very well. So, for example, about three years ago when everyone was breaking bad CRAZY I attempted to watch one episode to see what the craze was about and I thought it was rubbish. It was farfetched and ridiculous. However, for whatever reason, a couple of weeks ago I decided to try watching it again and I've almost finished it! Average 3-4 episodes a night. Really love it and am moving onto better call Saul next.

So hipsters like everything BEFORE the hype begins, I like things when the hype had disappeared Grin. I was the same with BBT as well. I thought it was nerdy shit but watched a few when cluster feeding DD a few years back and was hooked. Watched the whole lot. I'm thinking the same will happen with game of thrones because right now I find it tedious. Give it a couple of years when everyone's moved on and I might enjoy it.

This is how dh and I have always done it. We don't tend to watch live TV unless it's the footie or something random on discovery.
We tend to research Imdb for American shows and download them to watch, usually watching an episode a night in bed. Occasionally someone will mention something we've missed on TV here like peaky blinders or ripper street and we'll download those.

Just finished 11.22.63 which was brilliant, picking up Gotham again now. We watched breaking bad at US pace when most people here hadn't heard of it. Game of thrones I loved but dh hated so it kind of dropped off.

I prefer to watch a season in one go because otherwise I forget what happened the week before Blush
