... Shave my bloody legs without butchering myself?!

I've tried so many techniques - pressing hard, softly, going against the hair, with the hair growth, letting them grow a bit, doing it often when they are short or stubbly. Using a range of razors - Gillette, Wilkinson sword, Bic for ladies, Bic sensitive, Bic with 1 blade, 2 blades, 3 blades!

Armpits are an absolute doddle. My legs on the other hand always make an ideal prop for a horror movie once I'm done! The weathers getting warmer & I feel I'm now pushing the 'fuzz keeps me warm in the Winter' excuse Grin

(Aside from the tongue in cheek post - tips would be appreciated Wink)

Oh yes, always against the grain

paxillin · 25/04/2016 22:56

Don't you brave against-the-grain-shavers cut off all the goosebumps or is that just me?

DoesAnyoneReadTheseThings · 25/04/2016 22:56

If I use anything other than a Venus breeze I look like an extra from a horror film!

LogicalThinking · 25/04/2016 23:00

Definitely use oil. Something like baby oil. I used to get a Boots one with vitamin E that was lovely. SOOOOO smooth a finish and no nicks or cuts.

Pinter · 25/04/2016 23:05

New razor/ blade Every Time.

BoyFromTheBigBadCity · 25/04/2016 23:08

You don't get goosebumps because of the heat. Heat and a sharp blade are your best tools

paxillin · 25/04/2016 23:13

Maybe I'll turn up the shower temperature a bit. Never occurred to me Blush

ayria · 25/04/2016 23:35

I do this all the time! If DP is around he does it for me sometimes. Grin

I find I get bored half way through so do it quickly then realise I have about 50 streams of blood down my legs. I'm lucky if I only cut my ankle. I think I might try waxing again.

And I thought men's razors are sharper than women's?

MiddleClassProblem · 25/04/2016 23:36

I love you OP

BoyFromTheBigBadCity · 25/04/2016 23:43

I got it from a magazine, but it has honestly helped - even just leave it til when your conditioner is in or something. Also, run a flannel over your legs before you shave, in the shower - again helps open pores. Obviously this is just me!

Fozzleyplum · 25/04/2016 23:45

I'm ridiculously ham fisted and my left shin bears the (now faint) scar from my early attempts at shaving my legs 30 odd years ago.

I only ever use a Venus nowadays. I leave it in the bottom of the shower to warm up whilst I lather up with soap using exfoliating mits. I never cut myself using that method. Also, I seem to be able to make the v expensive blade heads last weeks. I hate stubble or any type of regrowth, so I do this every day, Winter and Summer.

BigChocFrenzy · 25/04/2016 23:55

Another vote for Venus Breeze !
The best I've found in 40 years of shaving - I used to look like the murder victim in CSI

mrwalkensir · 26/04/2016 13:14

just get an epilator - less messy than wax and cheaper in the long run. And no spiky stubble from shaving
