WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

They have installed a 4ft high garden gnome on their roof looking directly into my kitchen...

We have a 6ft high privacy fence at the front of the house so it was quite a shock to see creepy McCreepy gnome as I was washing up!

AIBU to put my house up for sale immediately??

Seriously though, do we think it's a spy camera? A weird, subliminal warning of some sort?? Do I install a gnome on my side looking into their conservatory??

WHAT IS THIS.

There's a gnome staring through my kitchen window over a 6ft high fence...

You need to raise it with council planning dept (assuming you're in England?)- what if you want to sell in the future? You would not be able to with that there!
It's completely against planning law- any deck over 30cm above ground must have planning permission.
They also cannot have it directly overlooking a neighbouring property.

Situations Requiring Planning Permission
• Where the deck is situated within 20 metres of a highway.
• Where the deck platform is more than 300mm (1 ft) from the ground (effective 1 October 2008).
• If the structure would affect the amenity value or privacy of neighbouring properties.
• If the deck is attached to a listed building or situated in a conservation area or National Park.

Are they usually so inconsiderate?

You need one of these.

You enter the Asda near me by going up in an escalator. As you reach the top the first thing you see is a row of about 10 of these gnome things waiting for you. I'm sure people are turning around and fleeing!
Can you go and get one for your house so they can have a gnome stare off?

Checked this morning on way out of house, gnome still in situ. Planning gnome wars.

You can buy a 6' inflatable dinosaur in Argos for £30, put one on your roof!

Can't see you photo terribly well - shitty laptop - but it looks to me as if your neighbour has got that poor gnome imprisoned up there on the roof.

Poor bloody thing is clearly sending you silent pleas for help.

Suggest you wait till dark, scale your evil neighbour's drainpipe and effect a daring rescue. Then take him back to Asda where he belongs, gnome that is, not neighbour.
