I REALLY want to know what is going on!

AIBU - sounds like I'm being nosey but WTAF is going on.

Live in a street, detached house but houses close together, new estate.

Last night, around 12 uniformed Police & 2 plain clothes arrive NEXT door. Outside for about 30mins no police cars/vans just a lot of radioing/phone usage.

Half the police then go round the back of said neighbours house into their garden.

Nothing, no drama in the street, no one taken out the house etc. Hour later all police disappear.

I'm just hanging around in my house now & 3 marked police vans arrive again, all get out, try and gain entry again to next door.

A. I'm a bit of a "hate this sort of thing going on outside my house etc as the police vans parked outside MY house (great!!!)

B. Jesus what is going on to warrant so many police?

C. Fuck sake!

D. Where the hell ARE my neighbours?

E. This will out me (hopefully not) but ZZ lister lives there

F. I actually hope they are ok!?

So my question is AIBU to want to know what the hell is going on????

I don't even watch Easties and I've been sucked right in!

I'm guessing the z list celeb has fallen on hard times and has been running a crystal meth production lab in his conservatory.

My theory is based on an episode of Breaking Bad.

Ouryve's suggestion of guttering maintenance is very sensible. Also, if you are attached to the neighbour's house, perhaps you should do theirs at the same time? Obviously any blockages in their guttering could cause merry hell for you I know nothing about guttering but am place marking

So in 24 hours, there have been 3 riot vans, 2 police cars, countless uniformed officers & 2 plain clothes.

What the actual hell is going on in there?

Also ..... The Feds have come from a different force not from the force where "we live" - does that make a difference?

Searching the car is often a drugs thing but not conclusive.

Coming from out of area means that either A) the crime was committed in a different area to where you live, as force where the crime was committed take responsibility for investigating or B) it's serious enough to go to a national team of very advanced officers in that particular type of offence/investigation

I honestly think you have the right to go out and politely ask if it's something you should be concerned about and that you've seen so much activity that you are really getting very anxious for yours and your family's safety.

And offer refreshments as they've been there for so long

Umm can you lift the bonnet on your car, peer around underneath it, start it a couple of times and look perplexed? That should keep you outside for a good 20 minutes while you investigate your "car trouble"

Why don't you offer them a cup of tea? Everyone likes to be offered a cup of tea and perhaps some lemon drizzle cake
