to warn you Tesco's new nappies now cause rashes!?

I've used Tesco own brand nappies for nearly 2 years now and they've been great.

However, they have recently changed the design (change NOT indicated on the packaging) to have a stretchy waistband at the back. As you can see in the photos the old ones are completely smooth and the new ones are rumpled and stretchy.

I thought this was fine at first but after a couple of days I noticed my toddler has developed a red rash in the exact area where the waistband has changed - see photo. It's such a distinctive shape there is no doubt that the nappy caused it.

I have phoned Tesco and they simply told me to return them to the store for a refund.

AIBU to think this is not a satisfactory response and to ask MNers to reconsider buying these in future especially if your children have sensitive skin?

I will be buying Morrisons nappies instead from now on. Fortunately we'll be potty training in a few months.

WellErrr - thanks for your concern. What are your thoughts on this one?

The trouble is, they will have tested them and it will have been fine in 99% of cases.

Errr I wouldn't recognise my infant bottom if I saw a photo of it now, would anybody? Bit weird reporting the op.

We had similar when asda changed there nappies but said they had only changed the packaging. Reporting a thread because of a picture of nappy rash is a bit much. Hmm

summerdreams · 21/04/2016 22:53

I think wellerrr is actually working for tesco

hownottofuckup · 21/04/2016 22:56

I agree with Wellerrr a pic of your kids butt was abit unnecessary. Share your own if you want but sticking a pic of someone else's on the internet disrespectful whatever their age

ouryve · 21/04/2016 22:57

I wonder if it's a reaction to latex, OP?

It's also been a bit warmer, the past few days. Nappies can be horribly sweaty things.

Alexapplebyreid · 16/08/2016 22:55

I have just changed to Tesco and my little girl has developed a nasty rash where the green strip is on the nappy. So far I have tried asda and Morrison's ones and looks like asda will be getting my business for them.

sglodion · 16/08/2016 22:57

Ooh my DD has been getting that rash from tesco nappies too. I didn't actually realise that's what was causing it until you pointed it out but it's exactly the same as your DDs Blush

HeresashatinaboxpAt · 16/08/2016 23:00

My oh got a pack of these last week and my lo has had a terrible rash and today was itching like mad... Didn't think that it was the nappyBlush

chuffingtrain · 09/12/2016 22:18

Are you serious ? you could have simply PM'd the OP instead of doing the dirty trick that you chose to do !!!

londonrach · 09/12/2016 22:23

Not had problem with the tesco...the boots one did the same for my daughter.

YouMeanYouForgotCranberriesToo · 09/12/2016 22:24

Morrisons nappies give my dd a raah, we had to get rid of them. Annoying as we had a full pack and an open one. Maybe some nappies don't suit some children? Rubbish that it could do that on any child though.
