Just that really, would you?

I am and I can't wait. Like others have been said, Brussels and Paris have been attacked, Spain has been threatened. Nowhere is 100% safe.

LAlady · 19/04/2016 16:25

No. I wouldn't - too risky at the moment.

FaithlessOne · 19/04/2016 16:27

I'm going next week.

SweetieDrops · 19/04/2016 16:27

Nope, but then I wouldn't go there ever. My friend went a few years ago before ISIS were in the news and said she didn't feel safe walking down the street as a Western woman because of getting constant hassle from men.

SquareDolphin · 19/04/2016 16:33

I see the Daily Telegraph headline that "NATO raises justified concern that Isil is plotting nuclear attack on Britain".

Just putting it out there.

Ladybirdbookworm · 19/04/2016 16:39

Going next month - looking forward to it. Life goes on and we live in a dangerous world but all we can do is be vigilant and take as much care as possible
We can't let the terrorists terrorise us into submission

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 19/04/2016 16:44

No I wouldn't. There are other lovely places to visit.

EssentialHummus · 19/04/2016 16:48

No - as a female Jew I don't feel comfortable going, but it's 10% terrorism and 90% hassle from men.

Yipeekayee72 · 19/04/2016 16:49

no.

lighthousefamily · 19/04/2016 16:56

Absolutely not.

Pinkheart5915 · 19/04/2016 16:58

No I wouldn't no

juneau · 19/04/2016 17:00

I wouldn't go to any Muslim country for a holiday at the moment. But avoiding is no guarantee of safety either, since in the past few years there have been terrorist attacks in Britain, France, Belgium, Spain, USA, Australia and Canada (to name but a few places that I would go). So, you takes your chances wherever you go.

Yeahsure · 19/04/2016 17:03

Probably not if I'm honest but I don't think people that are going are being reckless. I live in London and travel on the tube every day, I know some people wouldn't do that so ya know horses for courses.

2ManySweets · 19/04/2016 17:10

I echo LaurieFairy; it was what happened in Tunisia that did it for me: I love Turkey and the Turquoise Coast so much; am desperate to go back but for me it's just too dangerous.

It's all risk interpretation really, isn't it? I live and work in London ffs!

TheNaze73 · 19/04/2016 17:12

No

BabyBuzz · 19/04/2016 17:19

No, I wouldn't go to Turkey. I think the prices of holidays to Turkey reflect the general consensus,, that a lot of people are not willing to travel there. Travelling anywhere nowadays comes with a certain amount of risk, but with the current 'climate' there, I wouldn't be willing to risk my family's or my safety. I suppose it depends on whether you think it is worth the risk or not. I was just saying to DH the other day, if you took the "risk" and went to somewhere such as Turkey or Tunisia etc., and something 'happened' to you, the first thing people "at home" would think is "what carried them out there, especially after X, they must have know it would be dangerous". It is a pity, but it's the world we live in.

Oysterbabe · 19/04/2016 17:24

I've been to Turkey and Egypt in the past but can't see myself going again any time soon. I just don't think it's safe.

pinkerpeony · 19/04/2016 17:34

No, but not due to terrorism threats but because we went last July and it was just too hot. We ate lunch inside to access the AC.
I'd go in May or June though.

blue25 · 19/04/2016 17:39

Definitely not! I love Turkey and had some great holidays there. However, I wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy it, so there's just no point. Lots of other places to visit. Holidays to Turkey are incredibly cheap at the moment because most people won't go.

PPie10 · 19/04/2016 17:40

No I wouldn't, been there a few years back and hated it. Wouldn't go back for a free trip even if it was safe.

Jaimx86 · 19/04/2016 21:10

No - only because I feel like I've been to most of the coastal areas there that I want to see.
ISIS have 'plans' to carry out 'tourist massacres' in Europe this summer www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/04/19/islamic-state-planning-beach-massacre-using-bombs-under-sunbeds/ so can't see why Turkey would be much different.

wasonthelist · 19/04/2016 21:21

I've been to Turkey before and really loved it. If I was planning that type of holiday I would go again - especially as it'll be much quieter if all the Russians have stopped going after that spat they had about the warplane.

WaitrosePigeon · 19/04/2016 21:47

I would never go there.

edwinbear · 19/04/2016 21:50

No, I wouldn't. I didn't like it at all when we went a few years back, so definitely wouldn't risk it now. There are places I consider safer that I would have a less anxious holiday in. Whether they are actually safer remains to be seen of course.

carefreeeee · 19/04/2016 21:58

No - flying is bad for the environment and one flight to Turkey would produce the same amount of carbon as everything else the average person does for a whole year.

Why does everyone have their head in the sand about climate change? We all need to start taking responsibility for our own actions
