I'm the neighbour Blush

and i wasn't actually doing that at all but i think my new neighbours will think i was.

I was actually saying "haha dogs look at that cat, hes laughing at you, look at him strutting around like scarface claw" then making kissing noises at the cat saying "oooh you are like scarface claw but orange look at you strutting about".

my neighbours are going to think either
a) im actually goading my stupid dogs to eat their cat

or

b) im a nutter who talks to random cats

The cat was blussfully unawares.

Man saw me and i jusr turned and went in.

the wholepoint of the exchange was the figs were all brave because cat on fence looking down at them with indifference

im going to have to move aren't i?

my dogs would have run a mile if the cat stood them down BTW

I love the conversations that I have with random cats, as I go about my day.

However, rest assured that he's now more wary (and possibly scared) of you than he is your dogs.

My cat used to sit on our fence. Neighbours dog used to go mental as it couldn't reach him. As they had a second fence a few feet in for the dog.

NeedACleverNN · 17/04/2016 12:29

I would think you was a nutter Grin

I bet the cat was looking at you like Hmm whatever

Pixienott0005 · 18/04/2016 13:53

If think you're a bit nuts, haha. Then again my mum talks to the rabbit and lies on the lawn next to him, it's really embarrassing.

HazelBite · 18/04/2016 13:57

I'm convinced that some cats and dogs know exactly what you are saying to them!

sizeofalentil · 18/04/2016 13:59

To be honest, you should probably make it clear to your neighbours that you're not a cat-hater. Just make a joke about it when you next see them like "I hope you didn't hear my talking to your cat the other day and think I'm a weirdo. My dogs are terrified of it. It's a beautiful cat". Or something.

I had something similar in my old flat when dog owners moved in next door and was really worried for my cats' safety. But then the neighbours told me that my cats like to sit on their fence and watch their dog - who was equal parts terrified/desperate to be friends with them.

(Had a lovely happy ending - the cats and the dog became friends and my cats would go in to play with the dog. Then I moved house with the cats and ruined the lovely Disney-esque friendship. Oppps)

Our old cat used to sit just inside our picket fence (next to the path) and wait for dogs to go past. They'd stick their noses in and get a swipe, a bloody nose and a telling off from their owners.

Goady fucker he was Wink

I heard my ndn say "that's a dog. Doggy" to my cat with the intonation that you use to a baby. Horsey ducky etc.

I was just glad it wasn't just me who did it.
