it must be such a bore. They cant even go to India, sit on the Taj Mahal bench, without the Diana reference, all over the front pages.
no doubt it was staged, but they probably wouldn't have got away without doing the staging.

the thing that did wind me up a bit was when Nicholas Witchell said on the news that ' this is a taxpayer paid for trip' ( not his exact words) I know the reasons why and they do have to work when they are out there etc, but all I have seen is them having a lot of fun really - if this was a couple from ' benefits britain' or whatever those channel 5 programmes are named, there would be uproar! I think they should be made to pay for some it themselves - however unfair that's sounds. We are all ' meant to be in together' according to our leaders, but not if your Royal. I know they are ambassadors, I know all the arguments. but this trip must have cost a small fortune. Also, the BBC has sent correspondents out there too, that's all funded by the tv licence. So we are all paying for this one! As for Diana, I do wish they would leave her alone. She has been dead for 18 years, but they like to keep on. It must be horrible for her immediate family.
ps, they might pay for some of it, I don't know! ( devils advocate)

I don't think the press are "harping on" about Diana. I hardly ever hear her mentioned these days.

In fairness 80s I am no fan but they have had to do an awful lot of schmoozing with of very dull people who can bring inward investment to Britain. I work in an engineering related field and it has been noted that they have been meeting people to oil the wheels of deals and opportunities already ongoing.

Plus the 'having fun' stuff is also part of the deal for India doing this as they want their country shown in the best possible light for tourism etc. Like I say, not a fan, but I do know that these trips really do have a purpose and make a difference in terms of £££ coming to Britain.

How do they travel, private jet on trips like this?

They're adults in their 30's. I imagine they'll cope with a little difficulty, yes. If they can't, tough. Other people have to.

Their 'difficulties' are different but not worse and certainly no more important than anyone else's.
