she's got the following:
door bouncer
baby gym
chair that swings and plays tunes
bumbo

we need something similar for her aunty's house, as we often stay for hours when we visit, it would be nice to get baby something she hasn't already got at home

I'd be grateful for any recommendations as there aren't that many people I can ask in real life as we've been prevented from going to baby groups due to medical issues

I wouldn't get a jumperoo. Noisy as hell, only useful a few months, expensive, shouldn't be used more than 15 mins at a time as can cause hip issues.

Get something that will last much longer

-Some Haba building blocks. Can be used from tiny as few blocks up until quite old building castles and houses and everything else. My 6 year old uses his daily still combined with various figures now. You can get blocks with mirrors or textures on also. Easy to store in a basket

  • soft doll. Can add a small baby pram when a bit bigger
  • small paddling pool for garden in summer. She will be 7-10 months by the time it's warm and can probably sit by then in a little bit of water with you next to her

Jumperoo, or a baby walker with activity tray, I got mamas and papas one which is noisy and loved by 6mo. Play gym is a good idea as easily transported. Or how about the fisher price puppy?

Agree wouldn't get a jumperoo they take up a hell of a lot of space and are noisy. there is also no way to estimate how long the baby will us it for. Friends of ours used the jumperoo until 9 months and 12 months where as dc1 was out of it by 7 months [used alot between 4 and 5.5 months] then dc2 was pulling himself upto stand and hurting himself on the jumperoo from 6.5 months; so it had to go as it was dangerous - he'd pull himself up,, the jumperoo would move hed let go and then it would hit him as it came back in the correct direction and knock him over]

One of the best toys DD had (and still has) is a cheap little paddling pool and a pack of play balls from Early Learning or Argos I can't remember which. Doesn't take up too much room indoors and easy to store.

When summer comes put couple of inches of water in the pool for supervised play.

Take out the balls and add household items like plastic tubs and wooden spoons, plastic bottle filled with dry pasta or rice (lid screwed on tightly obvs) for making a noise.

Or make a sensory pit by cutting up scraps of fabric, washing up sponge, cheap hairbrush etc for different textures.
